Myself and my boyfriend stayed at the Darjelling Hotel for 2 nights in March this year before we moved on to the islands. I was pleasantly surprised by the standard of the hotel based on the price. Very modern, very clean little hotel with pleasant staff. Great location on Sukumvit really close to shops and bars, also the new Terminal 21 showing centre. Also really close to BTS station so easy access to Siam and MBK etc. Despite its busy location it is set back from the road and you cant hear any of the traffic noise. Would definately stop here again and would reccommend it to anyone travelling on a limited budget but still likes a good standard of room.

Best part of the hotel is its location @ sukhumvit near soi 18. We could use the airport-city metro to commute. Its just a stone's throw from the sukhumvit metro station, although tucked away from the regular city chaos. The room was a bit smallish... although very comfy. No view from the room.. cant expect that.. It had almost every convenience.. The staff was also very helpful and courteous.
The aircon leaked one day.. but that was fixed. Otherwise, the stay was pleasant

The location on Sukhumvit is optimal, with quick and easy access to both the skytrain and the subway. The hotel is set back from the road, insulating you from the sounds of morning traffic. Our room was spacious and clean with a big bright window and a large window into the shower. The shower could have been better constructed, and it seemed a drain was put in the floor for a reason. No breakfast, though morning hawkers can easily be found on your walk to the skytrain. All told, a pleasant experience and if I were to stay on Sukhumvit again, I would stay here.

We booked this hotel to be near to the skytrain and metro system in order to get to the airport. The metro is a short 5 min walk, and you can connect to the Airport fast line easily.

The hotel was off the busy road, and you were not disturbed by any traffic noise. The rooms were very clean and modern with tv and fridge. There was a selection of drinks and snacks. The shower was good, and there was also a bath should you need it.

Breakfast was not included.

Staff were friendly.

The hotel was situated near a number of bars and restaurants, as well as shopping areas. It was a 10 min walk away from the controversial Soi Cowboy.

Rooms are nicely appointed & clean, not fancy but surely one of the best values in Sukhumvit area. Fast wifi, LCD TV screens, bathtubs, mini fridges and other features good for short or long visits. bedding and towels are clean and comfortable.

This quiet place is in a terrific location 10 mtrs off Sukhumvit - no restaurant but Soi 18 has lots of street food & small ethnic restaurants.

I've stayed here 3-4 times without any inconvenience, never had slightest problem, I'll certainly return to this friendly little hotel.

Location is excellent, should be the reason to choose this place, right near to Asoke and Sukhumvit stations, loads of places to eat around and right next to Terminal 21 shopping centre and food courts. Staff can be very helpful even if they need a bit of a nudge. Rooms are nothing special, but modern, clean and comfortable, our was without a window. Everything worked ok. Dont go for the pool, its located in a cupboard somewhere and its photo flatters it. There is better value in the area at a similar price, but if location and access to the transport system is the focus then this is a good bet.

As stated in previous reviews, this hotel is conveniently located within a few minutes walk from the Asok BTS and Sukhumvit MRT station. It is also located near a Citibank which was very helpful when I needed money from an ATM. Getting to the hotel is very easy via public transportation. Take the Airport Rail Link to Phaya Thai station and then walk to the BTS Phaya Thai station and stop at the Asok Station. When leaving the BTS station, look for the for the Exchange Tower exit sign. Walking toward the exit sign, you will see Citibank on the left and the Exchange Tower on the right. Once you get to the bottom of the steps and get on the sidewalk, you will immediately turn around and walk the opposite direction of the stairway. If you see Asok Suites after walking a few seconds and the Exchange Tower is on your right hand side while you are walking, then you are going in the right direction. Keep walking past Asok Suites and make the first available right on Soi 18, which looks more like an alley. You will see Darjelling.

The room itself was a bit small but modern. The room was relatively clean. However, housekeeping could do a better job of cleaning the bathrooms as evidenced by dark stuff in places where water settles. The beds were comfortable for me. WiFi worked just fine for us. The staff was friendly as they greeted us every time they saw us. The indoor pool looked unused as it was always dark in pool room. In my week in this hotel, I never saw anyone use the pool. I was amused as to how steep the stairs are. But if this bothers you, an elevator is available.

I think the best feature about this hotel is the location. In the morning, there is a street cart just outside the hotel on Sukhumvit selling orange juice. Across the street from about 6:00 am to 9-10:00 am. there are street vendors selling meals to the office workers. Across the street from the Citibank is the Terminal 21 shopping center with an excellent food court on the top floor. At the Asok station there is a waffle stand that sells excellent waffles. In the Exchange Tower is a small cafe that sells toast and very tasty Thai Mile Tea.

Overall, I would rate this place Very Good because of the location. The room itself was decent. While adequate, the bathroom seemed a bit tired. Still a great value and I would not mind staying here again.
