Very good value for money. Foods was okay. Service in the restaurant was not upto expectations. Very close to pratunam market. Quite spacious rooms. All basic amenities. Wifi in rooms is a plus. Rooftop pool. Wouldn't mind checking in again.

White Palace Hotel is not a new hotel and it wont WOW you from the front entrance, everything is old including the lift. The check in was fast and we've been staying here for 7 days, overall, its a very good stay.

We stayed at #601, which is the nearest to the lift, it is not noisy although its just beside the road. The room is clean and smells good. The bathroom is with a bath tub, just that those who are beyond 180cm will have difficulties taking bath as the ceiling of the bathroom is so low. This is very annoying as there are no power plug beside the bed, making it so difficult to charge my phone! TV channel is good and fast.

The bed is nice, A/C is cold, they have a mini fridge for you to store your foods and drinks!

For the restaurant, its really a normal, we were there just for the breakfast, and everyday we will have fried rice, fried noodle, scramble eggs, fried eggs, salads and breads. its almost the same everyday, but worry not, they taste quite good! coffee, tea, juice and milk is served.

Now the best part is the street! filled with local foods and stalls! just 2 street down, you can find all the local food from tom yum gong to phad thai and grill seafood as low as 10 baht! along the street have 7-11 which can supply you enough of drinks! at the end of the street, it is baiyoke night market (well the market opens from morning till mid night and start again as early as 5am). On the other hand, it will be the pratunam market entrance, this is a shopping heaven! oh and, they only accept cash!

you can get apparels, shoes, accessories at very good price, they sell food too. just at the end of the pratunam market street, you can see Platinum Mall infront of you, this is a tremendously big wholesale mall consisting of 7 floor ( level 7 food paradise ), they are selling clothing, phone accessories, fashion accessories, kids clothing, bags, watches and local cosmetics. the top floor is a food court which have almost 40 stalls around, they are using top-up card system (its used in most of the bangkok's mall).

in Walking distance, you can go to Big C (a tesco like hypermarket), Isetan, Zen, Central, Siam Paragon! well if you can walk more, you can walk to MBK, its almost 15 minutes walk from Platinum Mall.

OK back to the hotel, the staff is friendly, and we are so happy that through out the 7 days of stay, they remembered our room number and pass us our key once we returned to the hotel! booking a taxi to Airport can be made at the Tour reservation table at the cost of 400 baht.

BTS station is quite near, it is station Ratchathewi (on the left, nearer to Platinum Mall) and another is station Phaya Thai. I personally like to stop at Ratchathewi as when i walk back, i can pass thru alot of stalls along the pratunam market. Phaya Thai station is quite empty, if you are to take a bike taxi, it will cost 30 baht each person, and tuk tuk will charge from 30baht to 100 baht. Its less than 5 minute drive to the hotel from Phaya Thai station.

Another tips, if you are far away and cant find your way, the easiest is to recognize the Baiyoke Sky Tower, just walk towards that direction and you will find your way back to the hotel.

You can visit other attraction places like China Town, Terminal 21, Chatuchak weekend market(open only on weekends from morning till night), floating market (food hunting).

I will stay at this hotel again as it is really a gem in the middle of the city. Suitable for those that are here to get wholesale stock, there are a few freight company around the hotel.

Massage is not a problem, its everywhere! There is 1 attached with the hotel too which opens till mid night, no chance to have massage here as its always full.

The room condition was not very new. Really needs alot of maintenance on their hotel rooms. There's a bathtub but no stopper to contain the water so it is basically just a shower place. The water's temperature can be hard to control, or takes very long to get to the desired temperature. Not enough plug ports and the aircon control on the wall is broken, though still working. The good thing about this hotel is the location, has relatively quiet surroundings and has night markets open till midnight and is near 7-11 and some restaurants. More importantly for shoppers, it's near Pratunam market and Platinum Mall as well, just a short 10 minutes walk.

The staff responded to most of my requests efficiently except when I asked for a weighing scale from the staff on the last day, I had to carry it from where it was to the lobby and it was a heavy scale. When I wanted to use it, it was actually not in working condition as the needles were not even there. I asked the staff again and all he did was shake his head, I had to carry the scale back myself again.

All in all, it was considered a pleasant stay if you are looking for a budget hotel, you get what you pay for.

Room Tip: Choose a higher room away from the road to avoid noise. Don't take corner rooms as some can be r...

When you see this hotel from outside , you feel a very good ,grand hotel but when you enter the hotel you realize that this hotel is well past its glorious days. The construction tells that once upon a time it would have been a famous hotel but now the room , maintenance etc. tell that it badly needs attention and renovation . The location of the hotel is poor too as it is too much inside from main road. But the cost charged for this hotel is also quite low so feel it was just ok experience.

We have stayed here four times and find this hotel to be clean and comfortable and good size rooms and beds very handy to shopping and market areas they have renovated over the last twelve months and just a little painting needed to finish this does not detract from our comfort. Buffet Breakfast is the same year in year out but there is enough choice that it doesn't matter. All staff are friendly and helpful I like to tip the room service staff as they do a great job. We have stayed at other hotels in bangkok but this is value for money and includes breakfast.

Room Tip: Ask for a room not next to lift

Together with 4 female friends we departed to Bangkok, we requested our Thai's friend to book Hotel for us. We expected to have Novotel class at least, but this hotel is lower than our expectation. It is a very hold hotel and a little bit dirty. Closet not work as well.
