This is an excellent restaurant, the lunch buffet is one of the best in quality and taste I know. Super service, delicious food stands, salad bar, sushi bar, meat stands, desert bar etc. However, price has gone up a lot. In 2006 I visited the first time, it was 900 Baht for lunch (plus 10% service + 7% tax), and at that time it was $1=40Baht. The price now is 1,750 Baht (plus 10% service + 7% tax) and $1=31 Baht. Sundays it is even more, because they serve fresh oysters. It is a fantastic food experience top quality, however it is no longer a great deal as it used to be, and pricy for Bangkok standards. If money is no objection, this is a must try. I will go again soon, before I had back home.

The view of the Chao Phraya River is fantastic and the food and service is even better. Located on the second floor of this magnificent hotel, this is undoubtedly the finest sea food restaurant in Bangkok, if not in all of Asia. The fish is as fresh as can be, and the Phuket lobster is unbelievable. Beg for a table with a window view of the river. (If you are there on the Loy Kratong festival, it will be one of the most romantic evenings of your life.)
Being a romantic, I prefer dinner there, rather than their fabulous luncheon buffet.

Was lucky to get seated without a reservation. The service was impeccable, and the Mandarin definitely knows how to do classy the right way. If it wasn't so busy and bustling it would be a premier romantic dining experience, but you have to accept that when the food is this good and it's a buffet their is going to be some noise. I'll make this easy and say that EVERYTHING was delicious, especially the lobster tails and the desserts. Best meal in Bangkok, and definitely best seafood buffet I've ever seen. It beats anything they have in Vegas for sure.
