“Great backpacker location, nice pool”
Reviewed May 14, 2014

Nice comfortable bed. AC turns off when you leave the room. Wifi is good but you have to login daily. Pool is nice and refreshing. Food is subpar but good for backpackers. A price list for everything in the room is concerning but expected given the usual clientel. 2000THB deposit or passport. Ideal for those who love the Khao San Road nightlife but Taxis are a must for everywhere else.

Caters for a backpacker looking for a treat.

Room Tip: Northside away from Khao san road. Ground floor for easy access.

The basic rooms are rubbish for the equivalent of 28 pound sterling a night.

This does not include breakfast.

The pool area is nice but the wifi is awful.

The location is really good and it has 2 street entrances to help speed up journeys. The hotel feels safe and the staff are helpful.

There is a 2000 THB security deposit which is a bit much considering you have to then spend this on your way to the airport to go home. Alternative is passport but I dont part with it unless I have to.

Room Tip: Higher up floors away from Rambuttri Road for better sleep quality.

We stayed at Villa Cha Cha just after New Years -- it was really cute in the communal areas (sadly too cold to swim in the beautiful pool!), and the rooms were nicely decorated. While the rooms had charm, we had paid extra to get a slightly bigger (more deluxe?) room for our 4-day stay, and when we opened the curtains in the morning, we found that we had no natural light and were facing a concrete wall. We asked to change and were given a much smaller room with more windows... we didn't push for a refund as it didn't seem worth the hassle and the hotel was pretty full. The bathrooms were designed strangely and the shower flooded the toilet section of the bathroom each time, despite the brick partition, and the hot water was pretty terrible. Still, the rooms were comfy and the location was right in the middle of all the Khao San area fun, without being on Khao San Road. I think next time I'd either pay more for nicer accommodation (I think we paid $70 for what should have been about $45), or go really cheap and not have a swimming pool that we didn't end up using anyway.

Room Tip: Check that you've got some natural light and not a window facing an alley when checking in.

A beautiful clean place and my second stay delivered the same matter of fact disciplined service. Friendly, with many of the same staff from two years ago.

Unfortunately this time however I had 10000baht of clothing shopping stolen from my locked room on the afternoon of Sunday the 23rd of February. It could only have been someone with a key to the room.

It was a smart theft with a little taken from each bag that was sitting on top of my pile of shopping - you would not have noticed unless you had been keeping the same itemised purchase and packing records as I do. Of 25 bags, 8 were opened and handfuls taken from each bag so the theft was therefore unnoticeable without unpacking each bag and item counting.

The hotel will not respond to my mail and have hung up on my phone calls.
I am obviously not going to use this otherwise very nice accommodation again.
I warn others not to use it as a shopping base.

Very disappointing.

If you like boutique hotels full of art and sculpture with beautifully decorated rooms, this is the place to stay. The hotel is a visual delight and is brilliantly positioned to be near all the action and yet quiet enough to be an oasis in this busy city. The road that the restaurant opens onto is attractive and full of bars, stalls and a great laundry over the road. Recommended.

Villa Cha Cha is located very close (2 minuted walk) to the Khoa San road but still somewhat far enough such that it is quite. It is about 45 minutes away from the airport. The location is strongest point of the hotel, beyond this the place is very average.

The room was of adequate size and utilitarian design, the bathroom was of adequate size. The walls were plain and our room had no windows to the outside and as such was always dark!!! At one point my wife dumped juice down a drain and we left, when we came back there were ants crawling all over the sink!!!! We asked to be moved to another room which was done promptly.

The staff were polite enough but were not that helpful at all.

The main floor of the hotel has a unique design but seemed relatively empty, we had booked this place not so much for the rooms but for the fact that it seemed it was a good place to socialize. I could see this being true but it was empty when we were there and this was likely partially due to the Bangkok protests. The hotel connects to a restaurant that provided a solid American breakfast for $3 CAD and at night turned into a decent bar. We paid bout $60 CAD a night

Overall I am indifferent to this place and would recommend it only for it location. If you are looking for something more then 3 star I would not recommend but if you are looking for some place to simply sleep and then explore the city then it will suffice.

We were at Villa ChaCha at the end of our 1 month trip (January 2014). After searching for a cheap place in the area we decided to pay a little more for a good night sleep. We were not disappointed! Our room was big, the bed was great and we were not bothered by any noise at all! Okay it´s a little more expensive and the staff isn´t very friendly. But it´s well worth it and the area is great.
