The location was in the older section of Bangkok, conveniently located to the Grand Palace and prominent temples. Area around the hotel is fairly commercial & urbanized, but it's near the river and the view from the restaurant at the top is great. Breakfasts were fantastic with Asian and Western choices. Our room was a studio, and very, very small - there was barely room to fit our suitcases in the room. But the decor was lovely and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Yes, English is a challenge for some of the staff, but they are very helpful and accomodating once communication is established. There's a 7-11 store just 1/2 block down where you can get some snacks, drinks and these great Thai ready made meals for around $3-$4 each. We had Basil Chicken, Lemongrass fish, and others that they will microwave for you and taste great! Hotel is also next to the most prominent Thai massage school in Bangkok if you wish to get a massage, and there is a small Chinese shrine next to the hotel.

Room tip: Chose one on the upper floors for a better view of the river

Friendly staff. Speak beginners English but enough to get us through. Easy fast internet. Good breakfast. Beautiful rooftop views! Easy walk to grand palace. Would definitely stay again given experience. However only issue we experienced was taxi drivers and tuktuk drivers did know this hotel or the street name. We mainly traveled via uber for this reason. Otherwise the hotel was lively.

What a fantastic night. Our jacuzzi suite had afternoon views of the river and we enjoyed the sunset right over wat arun. Out the back of our room from the bedroom we had a beautiful view of the grand palace. It was especially nice early in the morning. The rooms are tastefully done with plenty l amenities like nice soap, tea, capsule coffee machine etc
Rooftop sunset cocktails for happy hour with friends led straight into a very good dinner.
Despite being new the hotel staff are very attentive and the food at dinner is worth making the trip for by itself. The area is also full of character and perfect for sightseeing. We would certainly recommend Riva Arun.

Room tip: It appears there are a few room variations so ask to check them out to be sure you get the best view

We booked this relatively new hotel for our short two night stay in Bangkok, and so glad we did. It's small, very quiet, stylish and modern and exceptionally clean. It was our anniversary trip, and we loved large and comfy bed. Rooms' layout was quite quirky, but somehow worked well with the room. We had plenty of luxury amenities for bathroom. And the view to die for - straight to Arun Wat across the river!

Rooftop restaurant and bar offers great views to the palace, and river and it's stunning. Great cocktails, great breakfast and great staff - what more could you ask?

Thank you very much for an exceptional service - all staff made us very welcome to the city. Can't wait to come back!
