“A must while in Bangkok”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2012

Get down here and order some massaman curry and a couple of roti plus whatever else catches your eye. The portions are relatively petite but that's a good thing as you can enjoy tasting a bit of everything. It’s so cheap that it’s a great opportunity to try a range of phenomenal home cooked Thai food.

Don’t worry that the decoration is a little shabby, this restaurant is rammed with locals for a reason. Don’t miss out!

“Roti heaven”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2012

This very popular little restaurant by the river serves great roti. It was very busy and hard to find a table but prices are reasonable. The lamb curry was a little disappointing but the matabar was delicious. It is located on the road the runs parrallell to the river oppostite the small park area,

“Back-Packers would love this!!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2012

I was in Bangkok for a couple of Random trips and one day my Bangkok-based friend told me that for a change, why not veer away from the restaurant dining. So he suggested to have a cruise on the river going to the back-packers area. So we finally arrived in Phta Nakorn and he again suggested a famous Indian store! It's small hole-in-the-wall type of restaurant but I must say, it's worth it! The curry was very tasty and spicy. But believe me you can tolerate the spice. The roti and the rice were both good so I had both. People usually line-up for this at night, but even during lunch time there's a lot of people dining. I highly recommend this for the tourists who are on a budget travel. If you're after good food nothing fancy, you would love this one!!!

“Does not live upto the hype”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 12, 2012 via mobile

I went to the restaurant for lunch . The portions were very small but me and my wife had quite a filling lunch for 230 baht . The place that way was value for money . However the food wasn't very great tasting and this is definitely not an Indian restaurant . I liked the matiba - tried chicken matiba . The iced teas were nice too . The roti chicken massaman is very oily and I drained out a cup full of oil before eating . If you looking for great tasting / value for money places I recommend the Restaurant below Chockas jewellers
