“Very good location, but breakfast is a joke”
Reviewed May 11, 2014

Stayed here for one night as the previous few nights were in the ChangAn branch, will not return to either.

It's very good location indeed, MRT is right at the door step of MRT station, and cross the road is the large shopping mall Xinguang Sanyue. But that seems to be all. Hotel service was somewhat cold and matter of fact. No matter how much luggage you have on the taxi, day or night, do not expect hotel service to give you a friendly helping hand, because they all only stand behind the counters. Same in ChangAn branch. This seems to be surprisingly odd to me given Taiwan is such a place proud of its warm service and friendly people!

Guest room 1001 has a distinctive toilet/sewage smell. The ventilation in that room seems to be really poor and the ceiling has mousy patches. And overall the rooms are really small, suit case has to be placed on a couch or it'll block the walk way.

Breakfast was a joke. We came down for breakfast at 9.40am, admittedly it was late, but given their breakfast close at 10.30am, we thought there was still enough time. BUT we were wrong! There was nothing on the buffet, absolutely nothing but a few pieces of dry bread and a jar of milk, and a few pieces of fruit. When I asked the staff where can I find some juice, replied no juice left. 50mins to closing time, NO JUICE.

Overall not happy with the place. If I'd know this was the quality of service I was going to receive, may as well pay $50 a night on a 3 star hostel, at least when they tells me no juice it'll be somewhat acceptable...

After staying their hotel in Xingyi ( near101), decide to book this one instead -- Tinny structure stuck between store, malls and literally 20 steps to MTR entrance. The location is the BOMB, so many restaurants, shops, under ground shopping street, Taiper train station you can literally just walk over using the MTR underground tunnels.
Now the hotel; ..is small. vey very small, very similar design and free drinks/teas like the other chains, but this one is much small, my bed distance and the wall that hangs the TV is barely about lengh of my carry on. The closet is nearly non existence-- about 3-4 hanger..you do have a work station and bench by window.my room was a upgrade premium King..imagin the standard ones. The bathroom however they were able to maintain the decent size and Jacuzzi as chain. Again , tinny elevator, tinny dinning area. CLearnly a boutique hotel tailor for Business traveler ( tons of Japanses Business men,,,although one of two staff speak good English and very friendly. However dont expect them help you with the luggage./ I travel alone with three pcs. The best they can do is, smile and put all 3 pcs in the elevator and send me away struggling in the hall way try to drag 3 luggage to my room without closing the elevator. Overall, is cheaper, smaller but better location than their lingshen and XingYi branch in my opion.

Room Tip: Ask for room away from elevator and if you light sleeper away from street....

The boutique hotel is conveniently located about 10 steps away from the LRT station and surrounded by several shopping malls and convenience stores. The Ningxia night market is approx. 10 mins walk and serves up some of the local favourites. There are free sodas and snack along with simple breakfast selection to keep you going. Highly recommended!

The rooms are very deluxe. The bathroom is amazing and you want to take the Toro toilet home with you! You can not beat its location with the MRT so close. The breakfast buffet is good and the staff very helpful. Excellent value for the money. I

Not our first trip to Taipei, but this time round, travelling with our baby (just 5 months), I read reviews and decided to stay in Tango hotel nanshi.

Pros:
-Check in was swift.
-Room was prepared already, with baby cot (as requested).
-Room cleaning service efficient. (It's always lovely to come back to a clean and done up room)
-Auto toiletbowl was nice ( a warm toiletbowl to sit on during the cold season)
-Location of hotel is great if travelling around by mrt. (Mrt exit just steps away from hotel lobby)
-Had yonghe breakfast (2 streets away) almost everyday so didn't try the hotel breakfast.
-Wifi connection fast.

Cons:
-Room is on the small side. With baby cot and 2 luggages, hardly any space left.
-wardrobe is rather tiny and hard to get clothes as the chair was placed in front of the door.
-free minibar items (but was disappointed as the hotel staff didnt refill it during our 5 night stay)
-service was good except for one night where there was road works done just outside the hotel from 1-5am. Baby was awaken and cried. Called the concierge to enquire how long the road works will take. Staff wasn't helpful, they didnt know and just say they will report the noise. This is not helpful at all with a wailing baby. Just when we thought the noise has subside, it started again. Hence we had no plans for the day as baby was fussy due to lack of sleep.

Good hotel for couples. Not so sure for families with babies as the street noise does disrupt a baby's sleep.

I spotted this hotel during my last Dec Taiwan trip with its location (zhongshan mrt within minute walk from hotel). This CNY last minutes trip without second thought ,booked it right after seats secured. Made a mistake with the location while booking as the Linsen & Nanshi are quite close to each other, however Nanshi should be the one nearest to MRT, called them up to amend however they still treated as cancellation (within 7 days) with 50% deposit penalty as their system don't linked. Impressed with the well-equipped room ,Jacuzzi bath tub with (24"?) tv
to entertain while soaking, microwave oven for your late night supper cos they do not provide room service, mini fridge with complimentary soft drink,tea/coffee & light snacks. Would like to give a thumbs up with the everyday changes (hot meal) breakfast, was very looking forward to its breakfast spread during my 4 nites stayed. To conclude my review : Warm & cosy boutique hotel that I would highly recommended with its reasonable rates & thoughtful amenities, all shoppaholics might want to know that Mitsukoshi is just opposite the hotel.
