“Only if you want to go to the hot springs in the area”
Reviewed September 15, 2013

In good location near a train station and is surrounded by public hot springs as well as private bathhouses. There are local food stalls and a supermarket in the area. Rooms come with tatami sitting area and sunken bathtubs for your private hot spring experience. Common hot spring area in hotel is very basic and nothing to rave about.

The greatest thing about the hotel is the location. It is very near to Xinbeitou MRT (5 mins walk), facing the park. From the hotel, you can walk to all the major tourist attractions in Beitou. The next MRT station (Beitou MRT) is about 15 mins walk, and there is a market with excellent street food there. The hotel is just beside a small supermarket and you can get drinks, snacks and other groccery easily. The room has the biggest bed I have ever seen (even bigger than king size) and I like the tatami platform seat at the window. The view would have been great except that theres a tall private apartment building across the park blocking the view. The bathroom is huge with your own hotspring bath. It can take a while for the water to fill the bath.

first time to beitou, stayed one night and found the hotel to be very well located, it is near the train station and yet we can walk around the night market at the back of the hotel or just went for a stroll to all the tourist attraction at beitou.

love how big the room and how roomy the private bath in our room is.

the breakfast is sufficient and the staff is polite and well trained.

Stayed here for 1 night with 3 friends. We had the 4 person tatami room. The room itself was great, they have a table with some snacks and tea which you can enjoy. The toilet was fabulous. Basically it's like a private hotspring where you can adjust the level of spring water to cold water. A little bit too small for 4 people but delightful nonetheless. We spent a good time chilling there enjoying the view (the next building).
Was significantly less impressed by the public pools at the 2nd floor of the hotel. It's decent in that they have lockers for your footwear and lockers for your bathing things. Unfortunately the pools do not seem to be cleaned all that often and a couple of them had 'bits' floating in them. The tiles could also do with a good scrub. The design of the public pools is also more spartan than the room so no nice extras. One of the nice stuff about the public pools that deserve mention is this chair which has jets in it so you can sit there in your own private jacuzzi so to speak. For the price we paid I was kinda expecting a bit more from the public pools. No complaints about the room or breakfast.
Location wise it's a 5-8 minute walk away from the MRT station. There are also many convenience stores, pharmacies etc located just a walk away.

My wife and i and our 6 month old daughter stayed here for 1 night in room 5006 during our trip to Taipei and our short stay in Xinbeitou. The location is great, just near the MRT, close to 711 for cheap beer and snacks and only a few minutes walk to the public hot springs (if you want to hang out in the bath with strangers) and the bath house museum ( a fine example of Japanese Taisho- Roman architecture). The rooms are clean, the bathroom is nice and the hot spring bath is great, but staying here just leaves you wondering..." i wonder what the other hotels are like?"
The breakfast buffet was 'unique' and that's from a guy who goes crazy at a buffet. No fresh juices, average coffee, and an 'eclectic' mix of western and Thai,Taiwanese and Chinese breakfast items, held in the Chinese restaurant which has the same ambiance as a funeral home. i especially enjoyed being serenaded by the synthesized version of "my Bonnie lies over the ocean" at 8 o'clock in the morning :-)
my recommendation for food is an absolutely fantastic vegetarian restaurant called Su (www.su-veges.com) a little way further up Cuang Ming Rd.
and get a few cheap beers from the 711, disregards all the rules and lounge in your bathroom hot tub for an hour and relax

Room Tip: if you are in a room facing the road, you will hear the tinny whine of the scooters from early in th...

This hotel is so recommended. It's beautiful, it's comfortable, the bedrooms are so chic-ly designed, it's got a romantic vibe to it and I love the hotspring water bath in the room. This place is about 5 minutes walk to the MRT station. Beitou screams rustic, old taiwan beauty, lovely sceneries, lots of greeneries, the air there is by far the freshest and coolest.

Room Tip: All the rooms are gorgeous!

This was a great place for a getaway. It's very close to the station and to the springs and other sights. The room was clean, modern and comfortable, and we were given an enormous, comfortable bed. The in-room hot spring was another good reason not to leave the room. The only real disadvantage was that there didn't seem to be room service, and dining options are a bit limited in the neighbourhood, but we found a couple of really nice Japanese restaurants nearby.
