we stayed there for our final night in Taiwan.
Nice Bathroom, with good sized bathtub and glass doors.Which was strange at first but forgotten soon over and free cub-noodles and juice.
Breakfast is standard Taiwan with western toast and cereals,(if you have to choose don't pay extra for breakfast, just eat next door!)
The best dinner we had up the road in some local very small nightmarket, with freshly made ramen-noodeln.

Room Tip: Felt like a real touristy area, with lots of Japanese Tourists!

Stayed here for 3 nights, it's about a 5 min walk to Nanjing E Road station (南京東路) which is on the brown line and perhaps not the most convenient but it's still easy to get around.

There are plenty of cafes, shops and resturants around the local area, explore the side streets for hidden gems.

The hotel staff are welcoming and speak English fine. The room perhaps smelt a little musty but was quite big in size and seemed clean. It was very Japanese in style, especially the windows and bathroom. The shower was great, with both rainshower and spray nozzles!

There was free tea, coffee etc in the room and the bed was comfortable - I slept well. Found very little noise though the walls were perhaps a little thin. The room was very dark for a good sleep.

Free wifi throughout the hotel and was reasonably quick. Also a small business centre on the ground floor.

I missed the breakfast the first day but went on day 2 and didn't bother on day 3. Some bland cereal, toast and strange tasting jam was amongst a small buffet of meats and stews. The restaurant is currently housed in an unappealing temporary room so no egg station. Only the fruit and coffee was worthwhile.

But for the price, the hotel was worth it though I would probably stay in the Ximen, Main Station area again next time for convenience.

The staff at the delight hotel were fantastic, down to the chambermaids who were always friendly, smiling and helpful. The room was nice and spacious (although suitable only for Asians. I say this because the ceiling height is uncomfortably low, if you were any taller than 5'6, especially in the bathroom

Room was well equipped with safe, TV, even a massage shower cab in the bathroom. Breakfast was ok, but would have been better off walking down the street to the little breakfast shop for you tian and dou jiang. We especially loved the juice bar which was literally next door to the hotel.

Only problem with the hotel is that it is not as near to the MRT station as some of the others, and it is also what I would consider a minor line; it is on the brown Wenhu line, which required a change if you were getting to either of the more popular and accessible Danshui (red) or Nanban (blue) lines. Otherwise, it is a comfortable oasis in Taipei and lives up to its name.

Free wifi, decent gym, free porn channel and cheap laundry service. Our room had horrible mildew on the wall near the window - we asked for this to be cleaned or that we be moved to a clean room - instead they completely stripped and replaced the wallpaper immediately! Front desk service was great, friendly and available 24hrs. Room was bigger than average and the bed was super comfy with down pillows and duvet.

one review here said that the facade and lobby weren't quite impressive, but going up to the rooms proved to be a pleasant surprise. that was the same experience for me. i was pleasantly surprised by the interiors of the room, as well the decor in our floor's hallway. the room that we stayed in, however, was a bit too small for us. BUT i should say that i was surprised at how quiet it was despite the fact that our room faced changchun road.

the location was also very good. there's a 7-11 and a welcome convenience store very near the hotel, and a cosmed pharmacy very near, which is always comforting if you're emergency-prone or just forgetful. there are eateries close by also, and there are 2 major malls which are just about 10-minute cab rides away (breeze center and sogo dept. store).

service, however, wasn't so good. well at least compared to most hotels i've stayed in. i guess my expectations were made higher because the website claimed that they were awarded for best hotel service, and that they are a bilingual hotel. only one receptionist stood out, annie, who communicated well and was awfully nice to us when we were trying to book tours through the hotel. the others, however, we didn't feel were as pleasant to us.

as for other considerations like breakfast, the complimentaries, the fitness center, etc., those were also so-so. on our first day, i woke up a bit late and went downstairs for bfast at around 9. since breakfast was til 10am, it would have been reasonable to expect that there'd still be food. i was surprised to find that they weren't refilling the dishes when i got there so i was just left with so little to choose from (i ended up with only an omelet and 3 slices of white bread). the restaurant itself was in the basement and seemed a little musty. the fitness center was just a 3x3 feet room with a treadmill in the basement too. the business center in the first floor, however, was a great place to stay in while we waited for our ride to the airport on our last day.

all in all, it was a good stay. there could just have been a few adjustments and it would have been perfect. if you're the type who comes to a place for service like me, i say come with reasonable expectations to this hotel so you don't end up disappointed.

Just as the other travelers had mentioned, the exterior of the building and the reception area were not impressive, but when you got up to the corridor of the guest room it will brighten you up, it's clean, china vases display along the way in glass panel. The room was on the small side, however it's really classic and cosy, as though it has just recently renovated. The bed and pillow were comfortable, and linens, towel spotless. In the rooms were 2 bottles water, coffee/tea and a cup noddle for guest (FOC). Hotel uses magnetic key card which is good.
Only one thing i'm puzzled, there so many tap and knobs to the shower head, even thought there's a note on the wall which advise guest which top to turn, i still had hard time adjusting the temperature and turning off.
Breakfast was good, with wide spread of western and eastern.
Location, it cannot compare to those located in Taipei Bus station, however it's still easy to find. If you were to take the MRT alight at the Nanjing East Road station, the road ahead of the escalator is QingCheng Street, on the right is Brother Hotel, left is a shopping mall, walk straight turn left after the Ever Spring Hotel, to ChungChun Road and Delight hotel is just a mins away. There is a Wellcome supermarket on the junction of QingCheng street and ChungChun Road.
No doubts i will return to this hotel in my next visit to Taipei.

I stayed here for three days. And forgive me for this thorough review but I know there are people who seek a little more information than the usual.

As for the location, the hotel is along Changchun Road, and very easy to find. It's just about a 2-minute leisurely walk from the Evergreen airport shuttle drop-off/pick-up point in Nanjing East Road, and about four from the Nanjing MRT station; faster if you take the side street shortcut.

There's a 7-eleven at the main road corner and a Cosmed right across, beside it is a Dante Coffee branch. If you take the side street beside the hotel, it will lead you directly to the Nanjing East Road MRT station, and along the way you'll pass by: Hooters Taiwan; Les Suites Hotel and below it are Movenpick and Subway; McDonalds; a Family Mart; a local bakery; and Brother Hotel.

To get to the Taipei Main Station, you have to go to Zhongxiao Fuxing Station, the next station from Nanjing East Road on the Muzha (brown) line then ride the Bannan (blue) line to the Taipei Main Station, which is just three stops away.

As for the hotel itself, it is small, and so is the reception area. The receptionists are helpful, but you need a little patience if you're an English-speaker considering English is not their mother tongue. They can speak English though, and exceptional Japanese, which is not surprising since the hotel caters more to Japanese guests. But they helped me a lot translating useful sentences and were equally patient with me.

The hotel room I had was good-sized, for a solo traveler like me. The bed was comfortable, and there were extra pillows and a comforter. The bathroom was small, with a tub and a shower, nothing special. It was super clean though. Everyday, the chambermaids cleaned my room, changed my used towels, tidied my things for me and made the tub sparkling clean. They also put new stock of coffee, water, tea and cup noodles. The only thing I didn't like in my room was the porn channel on tv, and it was on a lower channel number, too. I had to laugh out loud for that. So, people with their children must be cautioned. And, oh, even though my room was facing the street, it was not noisy; so I still slept soundly.

As for the amenities, the hotel has free wired and wi-fi internet; a business center/guests lounge at the ground floor with free use of their computers and free refreshments (coffee, tea and water). There are readings materials, too, and a tv.

Lastly, the breakfast. Everyday, the receptionist would hand the guest a voucher for the breakfast buffet. The dining area is located at the basement of the hotel, a floor down. The selections, Western and asian, are minimal, but the asian viands change everyday; the rest are the same. There's an omelet bar, though. There's a coffee maker which can make latte, cappuccino, etc. It's nothing to rave about but enough to fill you up till lunch; or in my case, till I'm back from a hard day of traveling.

As for the value I paid for, I could get a better hotel at or about the same, or slightly higher price. But if you've ran out of options, Delight Hotel is not a bad deal, specially for a solo traveler.
