This hotel should not be a four star as stated. I stayed there for a few nights on business. The location is very central, close to the sub-way station and night markets. However, the lobby is like a three stars hotel. The staffs at the front desks with the attitude of not welcoming guests at all - no smiling and always a stone face.

Breakfast is fine with both western and Asian selections but definitely not four stars' hotel food. I stayed on the VIP floor - top floor. The room is spacious but not enough vanity for business. I've never stayed in a 4-star business room with no electric outlets for charging your phone and laptop. You need to unplug the table light to free up an outlet.

The central air has no heat as told. All they have is a portable heater for the cold nights. The shower takes about a few minutes to have hot water. They don't provide umbrella in the room for rainy days (very often in March) as most of the business hotel.

This is my first time in Taipei and I'd recommend this hotel for business travel.

Dear Sir:
Thank you for your comments .Please accept our sincere apologize for the troubles we've caused
you.
First of all ,it was pity that our receptionists did not welcome you in a proper way .We really must to retrain our staffs .And ask them to do their best to service to the quests.
Second ,We usually provide umbrellas in front of the lobby .Next time ,If you need to borrow umbrella or anything ,Please do not hesitate to ask our front desk directly .
About air-con ,Due to the central air-con is controlled by the building maintenance department ,
We are not able to regulate the temperature ,and that is the reason we provide heater for guests needs .
Regarding other issues ,we are really need to asking our division for the improvement .Thank you very much again for your comments .And we look forward to serving you in the near future.
Thank you very much indeed.
Best Regards,

My friend and I checked in the hotel on 22 Dec 2013 and we stayed till 26 Dec 2013.

Although, this hotel is at a very GOOD.
But on 24 Dec 12.45 am, we received a VERY RUDE SHOCK.

The building fire alarm went off and all the guest were asked to evacuate.
Later we received with an even greater shock when we found out that there were no emergency lighting at the staircase. It was totally pitch dark and none of us could see the steps at all.
Luckily, some guest brought along their mobile phone and turn on their phone torchlight.

Then when we came to the ground floor, one of the emergency exist were blocked while the other had many scaffolding structure obstructing the way.
This were very dangerous.

Luckily, the firemen came and confirmed that it was a false alarm.
Else could one imagine the casualty if there is a real fire!! Many would had died !!

But what even upset us more was the hotel staff could not even explain what went wrong nor did they apologise.

This is a DANGEROUS HOTEL and I would like to advise all guest to consider your safety before checking in.

My wife and I arrived in Taipei and we stayed here for the night before starting our tour of eastern Taiwan.
The hotel was more of a no frills, premium budget sort of place.
We loved its close proximity to Xi Men Ding shopping area, which was just across a major road, without being too close and not having to worry about noise.
The room was spacious and the american king size bed was a welcome element for the night.
Other than that, I would say it is ok and provides fair value for its price.

Like the review given by Laurence, I also have to say that their walls need better insulation although after transferring to the 4th floor made things better but other than that our stay was fine, the beds and linen were great, bathroom as very good and the aircon was super cool. They even have biscuits or products made by taiwan sugar as part of the freebies in the room. Breakfast was adequate and the selection was average for this class of hotel.

Room Tip: Try to get rooms nearer the elevator as it is somewhat quieter than the other rooms which are farthe...

While the hotel was newly renovated and the staff were attentive and friendly, the walls are paper thin which made it near impossible to sleep. My fiance and I were awoken at 4am on a saturday when our neighbors decided to take the party back from the club to their room. We could literally hear each word that was spoken because the walls were so thin and this lasted for at least 10-15 minutes before the staff knocked on their door and asked them to quiet down (we had asked the staff to come up within 5 minutes). Early in the morning, the children in the room from the other side could be heard, and as they walked past our room we could hear them as if our door was open (and we later found that there was a 5-8mm gap between the floor and the bottom of the room door which explains why it was so noisy). The following night, we got home late and were unable to sleep due to the serenades of our snoring neighbor (the one with the kids). While not proud of our actions, we were forced to call their room and wake the neighbor up so we could have a chance to go to sleep before he fell asleep again. It was loud enough that it was like he was sleeping in our room. I would NOT recommend anyone that wants a good night's sleep stay at this hotel.

PS. I travel for pleasure 4 times a year and for work about 8-10 times a year, this was the first time I've had such a bad experience that I actually bothered to open up an account to let others know about this.
