This hotel/apartment building is located squashed among the streets, just look for the silver door, just right of the Yamaha bike repair shop called Kymco. It doesn't have have a lift so travel light to stay at this place otherwise you will be carrying your baggage up 2 floors. It's very clean and the room had a bit of musty smell but we opened the windows for a while and it was ok. The bathroom is spotless clean and tight fitting, the glass door had millimeters as it swug past the toilet. The room is small but its what you get for the price. There is air conditioning, and small windows but don't expect a view of the road, all you the wall of the building next door. There is no breakfast so don't expect it, we didn't care as there is plethora of food available along the streets to choose something. There is lots of power points in the rooms even one on the table inbetween the beds, great for my mobile phone and iPad devices etc. There is no safe in the room so take your valuables with you go out. There is also CCTV cameras on the hallways and outside , besides you only gain entry by pressing the intercom and identifying yourself. The TV in the room is huge and there is the usual stations CNN and Chinese and Taiwan local news, but we don't stay here to watch the TV do we.
The lighting is good and the colour scheme of the room is well thought out and of good standard. Remember to leave your key card in the little black box on the small table when checking out if the table is unattended. Believe it or not that is the reception desk, yes believe it this hotel that has cut the costs to give you this great experience and value for money. We had someone there to greet us and we just confirmed name with the booking bit of paper they had on their table. The Wi-Fi was brilliant, its so nice not have to search around standing and going into corridors. Just relax in your bed and surf with your device. For the geeks reading this I got 20mb download and 10mb upload excellent. If you fancy a bit of reading or writing a hotel review you can do it on the very nice glass table and small chair like I did. If and when I return to Taipei this place is top of my list for places to stay.
