I chose this hotel because it was recommended by my local friends in Taipei. Most travelers in Taipei probably use its subway system a lot (just assuming?) so one might find this hotel's location inconvenient because it's not so close to the metro. However, it has LOTS of shops, restaurants, massage places and a night market nearby so it is really interesting to walk around in that area. Besides, cabs in Taipei are really cheap and they're EVERYWHERE, ALWAYS.
OK now inside of the hotel, it has several restaurants and the food in each of them is INCREDIBLE! Actually I think I found the best steakhouse ever, not in NYC, but inside of this hotel! The cost at each of the restaurant is really really resonable; the steakhouse is relatively expensive compared to the others but it's like $100 per meal (but a really fancy one).
The room is really clean, big and nice too. Really comfortable bed, clean tub, good internet access. The hotel interior has some kind of luxury but due to the age and size one might not feel its fanciness. In fact my stay there was really smooth and relaxing and left me no complaints at all.
