Stayed for 3 nights. Pleasant clean room and bright tidy lobby.
Services at front desk are ok and people there are quite nice.

Just 10 mins walk to nearest train station. Many bus stops outside hotel.
Quiet as not too near the city centre buy only 2 stations apart from it.

At least 4 24-hr FamilyMart/7-11 nearby.

Safe fooling around at night,

This hotel is really comfortable an has all the services a business traveler needs. My top rating goes to the professionality and kindness of the staff and to the above-average breakfast buffet!

Although located a distance away from the MRT station, I got a newly-renovated room, which was very refreshing. I got some coupons for free pressing and a thank-you letter with gift for my patronage. Staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful to my needs. Only bad thing I had to say was location, as it was not near Taipei station or the 101 area. Taxi rides and traffic are a bit of a pain in the morning.

This is the sort of hotel that 15 years ago would have received a top rating, unfortunately, notwithstanding the absolutly excellent staff, the facilities and decor are very dated - especially considering the price for the rooms.

The rooms are reasonably well appointed (we just stayed in a standard deluxe) and the walls were solid enough so that one is undisturbed by adjacent guests. However, the decor is very tired (when was beige last in vogue?) and the pillows and matresses had obviously seen plenty of service and were obviously near the end of their serviceable life. One small comment is that given the lack of "plumpness" of they pillows then it would be good to have 4 per king size bed without having to have to ask for extra.

As for the rest of the hotel facilities, the choice of restaurants is excellent and the quality within these very good indeed if a little pricey. On the subject of price I would say that overall this hotel no longer represents value for money when considering that for a similar amount one could stay in a more modern (and more central) 5-star hotel.

I will however compliment the staff who were positive, helpful, co-operative and understanding throughout and even arranged a complimentary birthday cake for my wife without my having to ask. Without them our stay would not have been so good.

We stayed at Sherwood Taipei during our 5 days shortbreak at Taipei. We chose Sherwood Taipei due to its location being near to the train station and shopping areas.
I would rate our hotel stay to be 9 out of 10, the staff provided prompt room service each time and were also very friendly & helpful. We had recommendations on places to eat from the Hotel Concierge and they even arranged restaurant booking for us. Another sweet, thoughtful gesture from the hotel was the surprising delicious birthday cheesecake presentation to our room one night. We had a chance to use their gym facilities which was fantastic as well. I would suggest for travellers to catch the Airport bus, there is a drop off zone located not far from the hotel (around 5 mins walk).
There is also a local train station nearby, some small neighbourhood restaurants (for local food) and also posh establishments (Western cuisines) depending on your preference.

Excellent environment. The service was outstanding. The two restaurants in the basement were both very pricey.
