Centrally located to many attractions. Public transportation is easy to use. This is a truly beautiful hotel and the rooms are great. Don't miss a trip to the Chiang kai-shek museum tour. This is a great Chinese treasure.

I stayed for about 10 days as i was working in Taipei and needed to be close to the office.
The hotel is very large with a good choice of food. The service is impecable and faultless.

unfortunatly i stayed in a week when the pool was out of order due to maintenance and they were also doing something to the roof and lighting. there was a lot of banging and crashing about. they also left a torch onmy pillow as there were power cuts through the evening. this meant the lights would keep going on and off - and wake you up!
i was lucky my room was on the other side of the hotel to where the restaurant is as the open atrium effect means that all the food smells (garlic, fish, meat) go right up through the rooms on that side of the hotel.
as a lone woman in a hotel its uncomfortable at times to eat in a restaurant so i tried to order room servce through the tv online service - this failed twice. so back to calling the old fashioned way.
once it arrived it was excellent food and lovely staff.
i felt that the reception area was like being in a train station as it would have no body in it one minute to 200 people all waiting for something.... and quite cold and impersonal.
the taxi sevice from the hotel to my office every morning was superb, and reliable.
i would recommend this hotel for its service and quality if its a business trip. if you want a holiday then perhaps something smaller.

Room Tip: choose a room away from the food atrium. less smells.

This is a very well managed hotel that score high points in almost all key categories: service, rooms, facilities, location, decor etc. It has an impressive 8 restaurant outlets ranging from Chinese, French, Japanese to Thai. It has a good size pool and well equipped gym. Good size executive lounge that provide good quality beverage and food standard for breakfast and evening happy hour. The hotel caters quite heavily to travel and event groups which at time can be crowded. The reason this very well managed hotel did not get a 5 stars is it consistently feel cold and impersonal. After 10 years of patronage to this hotel and a life-time platinum, I feel like I am just one of the faceless and nameless body staying here.

Location of hotel is good. Near the MRT station and IT market is walking distance. Service and food quality was good. Staff was very professional. The only thing that bothered me was the smell of sea food near the restaurant ( I being a vegetarian hate that) but this was not unbearable.

Dear Avi3001,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Apologies for the unpleasant smell coming from the restaurant. We recommend you to ask our associates to arrange a room that's farther away from the atrium when you visit in the future. The Sheraton Grande Taipei is a fine hotel. The lobby is impressive. The Club area is nice -- but crowded. The rooms are up-to-date and interesting. (Not boring.) The food and beverage choices are excellent. The staff is helpful. It's a pricey hotel. The views are terrible. It was a long taxi drive from the airport -- and another long taxi drive to my meetings. I do like the hotel, but would select another (next time) based on where my meetings are being conducted. I'd rather have the extra 1 hour (not in traffic) to use the gym or other amenities.

Room Tip: I don't know if any room has a good view. The rooms all appear to be interesting and up-to-date...

Yep, pretty good. Nice clean rooms, convenient location. Breakfast and service was good. Internet access (I used wireless) was more than adequate. No complaints. I would re-book the Sheraton Grande Taipei Hotel anytime again.
