Nihao@Taipei is a good choice for budget traveller. It is very close to Taipei Central Station so it is convenient for travelling around Taipei.
Staff are very nice and helpful. Rooms are comfortable and equipped with hair dryer and worldwide plug!

I stayed here in January 2013 twice for a night each in both the 6- and 8- female dormitory.

ROOM
The rooms were kept warm in the winter, something other places in Taiwan lack, and the 2 showers/toilets in each dormitory were enormously helpful for 6 to 8 girls, especially with two additional sinks and toiletry storage space in the 8-room dorm. Plenty of privacy with the screen and curtains. Hair dryer in room, and a washing board/pail for anyone needing to clean their clothes.

SECURITY
Security is pretty alright with room access only by card, and even though the rooms are located near other offices, cameras are placed outside the rooms and presumably monitored round the clock.

LOCATION
Near Taipei main station with trains (both HSR and otherwise), bus stations, metro and shopping malls within walking distance. Along busy part of town but actually really quiet in the rooms.

SERVICE
It was a pleasant stay and the staff are friendly and helpful, and allowed me to keep one of my bags for a couple of days. Used their laundry service and clothes came back clean and folded neatly, which was great. Reasonably priced considering the time I saved not looking after said laundry!

No breakfast is provided, but this is Taiwan! They do have free coffee/tea the entire day. It is a little pricier than most hostels, but considering the quality and location, it is pretty value for money.

Very near to Taipei Train Station, MRT, High Speed Rail (HSR), Main Bus station to airport / others places & Taxi station. 7-11 just few steps away. Underground shopping center about 50m away. Many good restaurants just at the same block. Walking to Taipei 101 is possible or by MRT / Taxi.

Staffs is friendly. We arrived about 1am midnight and their staff are waiting for us for the check-in. He spend some time explaining how to use the RFID wristband for room locker & the check out process. Basically for check out you just have to left the RFID wristband & smart card at the room. Each section will have 2 common bathrooms & 3 big sinks. Water filter for mount wash & drinking is provided. The full time WIFI is fast, flat TV with >100 channels. Hotel lobby looks cozy, many interesting design, rest area, bar to serve drink / snacks & books.

Bathroom a bit small (For room attached with bathroom) & hotel room is located at office building and split across multiple floor. Anyway if you just want to have a rest only, this shouldn't be any problem. The location let you access to any attractions in Taipei or outside Taipei.

Stayed for 4 night in Nov 2012 in a triple room. We took the Kuo-Kuang Airport shuttle to Taipei Main Station. Shuttle is vailable every 15mins, ticket counter is located before the exit to bus stops. Cost NT125 (adult) NT65(child) and takes about 60mins to reach Taipei Main Station.

The bus stopped at the main road infront of the Taipei Main Station. Nihao is about 5mins walk from there. If arrive by train or MRT or if you arrive on a raining day (like us), you can actually stay dry by taking the route from Taipei Main Station and take the M3 exit from there. Take the escalator at M3 exit and turn left. Cosmos Hotel is less than 10 steps away and the main entrance to Cosmos Commercial building is another 2 steps away! You will never get wet walking from the MRT to Nihao and vice versa.

I booked through Agoda and check in was a breeze. Reception counter and the common room is located at level 11, with complimentary cofee, tea, biscuits and filtered water. We were given a room at level 5. The room was pretty small and without window, comes with a shelf table, a flat lcd tv on the wall and of course, our double decker bed. The mattress and pillows were comfortable, we had good night sleep. There are 4 rooms in the unit we were staying, one of it is ensuite so we were sharing the toilet and bathroom with the tenants of the other 2 rooms but hardlly queue for anything. There are 2 wash basin located outside of the bathroom/toilet. We had no noise problem throughout our stay and the room and bathroom are kept clean all the time.

If you are a light traveller, you can leave your towel at home and rent one from them at NT50 and laundry service is provided at NT150 per bag (a pair of jeans and 3 to 4 shirts perhaps). You may leave your dirty laundry with them in the morning before going out and collect in the evening! The reception counter is closed at 11pm.

As it was raining most of the days when we were there, so we spent quite a lot of time at the Station Front Metro Mall right at the Taipei Main Station. Went to night markets at Shilin, Ximending, Longshan temple & Keelong. The best price is still at Station front metro mall.

If i am to go visit Taipei again, I will not hessitate to stay at Nihao but will definitely ask for the ensuite room for convenience purpose.

It is located in a semi-residential and commercial building right above metro Taipei main station. the room design looks awesome and 2 washrooms inside are shared by 8 occupants. The senor lockers are the key sources of disturbance making you still stay awaked at the middle of the night. the sound is so loud that you wake you up. Try to get a bed near the window. you will have more fresh air in winter time.

Me and my friend found this hostel through Tripadvisor and true enough this is a great deal for money. Communicated with them thru email and they respond fast to any inquiry. Its very convenient for us because of the nearness to Taipei Main Station, Taipei Bus Station, Boai Street for the purchase of our camera's, near Nova for the gadget, there's a 7/11 beside it, M3 exit/entrance to MRT. For our tour, we were pick-up at Cosmos Hotel which is just beside it. Room is clean and just enough size for petite Asians like us. Reception is at 11th floor and rooms at 4th floor, don't worry its easy to find. Free biscuits and coffee at the reception area, nice decors too. Overall very convenient place to stay if you're a budget traveler like us. And oh, don't forget to bring a towel with you since they do not provide one in the room but you can rent one from them.

Room Tip: Room with attached bathroom for more privacy.

The best pro of this hotel is its location. It is located near the Taipei Main Station - the major transportation hub of the city. There are two MRT exits near as in literally just a few steps outside the building. Just across the street are banks, restaurants, malls and shops. The building where it is located has a 24x7 security. However, I really find it weird and awkward that the rooms are separated from their main room-lobby. The rooms are adjacent to offices which I really find unusual. The building is kind of old and had a eerie vibe most especially that we come home late in the evening adding that are the old elevators that made it more look like an abandoned edifice. Our rooms are located at the end of a hallway (4th and 5th floors) whereas their lobby is at the 11th floor. So we need to still go up to ask and request for something.

On the other hand, the rooms are nice, clean and new. The beds are very comfortable as well. Shared bathroom is clean and new also. For its price though, I think I'll be checking out other great hotels-inns the next time I'll be going to Taipei. I also recommend for them to include free breakfast on their packages to compensate or at least show a more accommodating vibe.
