“Nice hotel in Taipei”
Reviewed March 14, 2014

Me & my friends were stay in this Hotel for one night in Feb. The room is comfortable & modern.
Only the problem is the TV channel not too clear. But it is not a big issue for us, since we didn't have too much time to stay in the room to watch TV. We would like to stay here again in the future.

Orbitz found me a good price on this hotel to I figured I would give it a try. Evidently $134 after tax is a good rate for Taipei for a Saturday night.
I suspect that this hotel must get tired of the word "Boutique" - but this is the quintessential boutique hotel. You can call this place funky... Black hallways, flat screen TVs in the elevator ceiling playing fashion shows. over all - kinda cool.I complained about noise from the street and they offered to move me... I would say good service.
This place is right next door to the Westin - which for me is useful. Everyone knows the Westin and can direct you back to your hotel.

I asked for a late check out - they could not have been nicer about that. Young staff is eager to please.

Some cool toilet. I should have taken a photo. It had a heated toilet seat with spray, etc... Very cool feature.

Modern room. Good internet.

Great location.

Room Tip: It appears that the city is putting in some subway system in the front of the hotel. so jackhammers...

The F/X hotel is very nice place located on Nanjing East Road in Taipei. The rooms here are clean and comfortable, and very nicely appointed. They have solid free wifi throughout the hotel, and breakfast is decent, not awesome, but OK.

The lobby and hallway style is a bit weird, as they are trying to project some kind of connection to the fashion industry, so it is dark, and strangely lit. Other example: the elevator has a TV mounted to the ceiling playing non stop catwalk fashion stuff. Eeesh. Not my thing, but whatever.

Beyond that, the hotel is nice, and in a great neighborhood located close to many good restaurants and bars. It is a good value. I did not stay here to hang out in the lobby anyway. 

Room Tip: Get the rate with free breakfast. Also, in my experience, the executive rooms are waaay nice than t...

We visited Taipei for a wedding and was our first trip to Taiwan. The hotel turned out to be in a fantastic location with any number of food outlets close by.
Dumpling house behind the hotel, KFC down the road and, coffee shops downstairs and 7/11, family marts across the road and around the corner.
7/11, etc is a true convenience store in Taiwan where u can buy all sorts of great things and even beer/wine for $30tw.
MRT train stations were close to the hotel and in 10-15 min walk you could get to either the yellow Zhongshan Nanjing line or the brown Nanjing East line. With both of these lines close by it made travel to any night market, 101, shopping, etc a breeze.
Even if walking isn't your thing taxi's are always parked in front of the hotel or driving by and cost so little! ~$100-$150tw to most locations we needed to travel too.
The rooms were clean and comfortable with a great large shower. Service at the hotel was great and we're always welcomed and had doors opened for us.
Breakfast was a Buffett style affair with a selection of fruits, juices, eggs, etc that keeps you happy, but I preferred to head out into the streets for a more Taiwan breakfast of Dan Bing 蛋餅 that I found fantastic!!!

Room Tip: After 10-11pm at night taxi's add a surcharge of $20/30tw which isn't on the meter so don...

The stay was really comfortable and the staff was really nice. The staffs at the reception were really helpful with all the information we inquire. It is about 10 mins from Nanjing East MRT station. A cafe is located just right outside the hotel and a couple of eateries just around the corner, there a nice breakfast that is opposite the hotel, so do visit there for cheap and good breakfast.

This hotel is pretty conveniently located near the Nanjing East MRT station. After exiting the station, you'll have to go to the street level, cross a street, and walk for 2-3 minutes along Nanjing East Road. The hotel is located next to The Westin Taipei. You can ask a staff at the MRT to direct you in the direction of the hotel.

The room that we booked was spacious (as compared to many other hotel rooms in Taipei), and the service staff were friendly. Surrounding the hotel are convenience stores and eateries. If you take a cab down the road, you will reach Raohe Street Night Market (which I personally prefer to the famed Shilin Night Market).

At check-in, you can ask for a pamphlet which shows you what are the eating places and shops around the hotel. This is a useful map if you are there for the first time.

The hotel shares the same building as China Airlines. At the lift lobby, only the 2 innermost lifts goes to the hotel rooms. Upon entering the lift, it feels more like a night club, with an LCD screen on the lift ceiling, and depending on what is being shown, the lift can be bright or dark. The decor of the hotel is kind of funky with a gothic feel to it. The rooms are comfortable.

If you are leaving for the airport from the hotel, you can take a short walk to the front of The Brass Monkey, where you take Bus 5201 to Taoyuan airport. Just ask the front desk at check-out and they will provide you a pamphlet to show you the directions to The Brass Monkey. The fare to the airport is NT$150. You need to cater for waiting time for the bus, as you may have to wait up to 20 minutes for one.

With the more than affordable rate, couldn't believe how impressed we were with the hotel. Plenty spacious. Swanky bathroom. See through shower stall from room but you can draw the curtains if you like. Super large bed. Very comfortable. Location was very good. Less than 10 min walk to Nanjing East MRT station. Surrounded by eateries.
