“Great location; very good service”
Reviewed February 28, 2013

Location is excellent, just minute from shopping / dining area, and a few minute walk from Elite bookstore and Taipei 101. It is also right behind a few clubs, which gets really noisy on Friday and Saturday (noise did not die down until 2-3am). Breakfast has good selection of Taiwanese and western food, staff is willing to accommodate requests. Staff are all friendly and very helpful. Room is clean with basic amenities; bed is nice and firm, with soft and firm pillows to choose from.

Room Tip: Higher floors (above 10th floor) to avoid the noise if staying for the weekend.

I loved the lights, which my husband believed are LED, in our room. They are bright white lights. I only needed to turn on one when putting my make-up on. The bed is firm and the cover is very light and fluffy. I also loved the hotel provided pillows in different firmness so I could choose the one that was right for me.
I was concerned about the noise from the nearby clubs so asked for the higher-level room upon check-in. Unfortunately they were all booked and our room was in the 5th floor. Surprisely, the noise made by the club-goers was not a bother since they didn't linger for long, though I could still hear it. Our room (#502) was very close to the entrance of the club. Home Hotel could install double layer window to ensure their quests sleep quality but they didn't which is a disappointment.

Stayed here for business trip and I am rather impressed with the hotel.

Location is very good as it is within 5-10mins walk to Taipei 101, Mitsukoshi, Eslite Bookstore, etc. Thus there is no lack of places to get food and last min shopping. Train station is about 10-15mins walk. If you want to visit Rao He night market, it is about 15mins taxi ride.

The hotel has taken the initiative to showcase Taiwanese local designers such as the waste basket, toiletries, cups, etc which you can also buy from them.

There is a cafe downstairs which attracts lots of young and trendy people. It's a nice place to relax and have some drinks.

As the hotel is surrounded by some pubs, it can get rather noisy at night but it is still bearable. Just treat it that it comes as a package - room with music. This is what you get when you stay in a hip and trendy boutique hotel. ; )

I'd really like to give this hotel 3.5 stars - above average but only good rather than very good. Stayed here on a business trip last week. What was good - comfort of the room. Bed comfortable, room clean, shower great (once I'd worked out how to use it), handy multi-adaptable wall sockets, useful clock-radio with ipod dock. Room/lighting a bit trendily dingy so a challenge putting make-up on without ending up looking over-done. Breakfast was OK - definitely not a stand-out (scrambled eggs day 2 were dodgy, three of us agreed) but enough of a choice to meet most requirements. Also location of the hotel very handy - lots of commercial areas, including Taipei 101, nearby. Service was efficient and reasonably friendly at all points (reception, concierge, breakfast, bar).
What could have been better - some availability of food. The mini bar had a Snickers bar. That was pretty much it. There was a little cafe on the ground floor that doubled up as a bar, but the choice was limited and by the end of the day extremely limited. Also the tea in the room didn't get replenished. So, as another reviewer wrote, room service or some form of catering would have been very welcome.
I would say though that the people I was with, some of whom had stayed in Taipei a lot more than me, were relatively impressed with this hotel compared with others they had stayed in before, so perhaps some of the gripes are not fair compared to what else is available. And at the end of the day, I would stay here again (though I might bring a few emergency food supplies for late night working!).

Stayed here for 2nd time and felt standard dropping. Very noisy throughout the night due to club downstairs. Breakfast is bad with small space .Cutlery, food and drinks not replenished. Disappointed and overpriced.

Dear Ms Lin:
We sincere apologize the noise came from the clubs around the hotel area and caused you didn't have a good stay at the hotel. We are doing some minor sound block contruction and it will definitely help out the noise around the area during the weekend. Regarding the replenishment for food and drink, we will definitely have our associates to improve the speed of replenishment. We apologize for such inconvenience that we casued to you. Wish you have a wonderful holiday season! Best regard.

Hotel is very retro, you walk into the room and feel like you've taken a step back into the 1970's. Rooms are large with great facilities. Only thing that was missing was the room service as there were a couple nights I had to work late and came back to the hotel famished.

I have tried several hotels in Taipei and some have been good and some have been average. There are only a couple that stand out. I would definitely put this one in the "good", and possibly even in the "standout", category. It is very close to the Taipei 101 and in the middle of that commercial area that surrounds the 101. However, I like this area a little more than other Asian commercial districts as it is not as enclosed and thus, does not have the same claustrophobic feel. Yet there are many things to do and places to eat close by. I saw a couple of reviews that categorized this hotel as "boutique" and "chic". It definitely has a modern feel to it that could give the perception that it is a little less traditional. Yet it gives off a cozy vibe. I have stayed in a couple of other hotels with modern decor in Taipei that were much more aloof in feel. The staff was very nice and very efficient at check-in. I was also favorably impressed with the cleanliness and spaciousness of the room. The internet worked well for me. The morning breakfast was pretty good with a reasonable number of choices. Check-out was just as efficient as check-in. I thought the room rate was fair, especially for being in the 101 area. I would recommend giving this hotel a try if you are in Taipei.
