“One Day Tour”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2014

I booked a one day tour for my family of four by sending an email to Jack Wang (totaland88@hotmail.com). I just informed him that I want a one day tour with Keelung Market and nearby places informing him that we usually go to parks and historical sites. He suggested this itinerary: Y Hotel (www.ymcataipei.org.tw/‎) ~ Jingtong tourism train ~ Shifen lantern & waterfall ~ Jioufen old street ~ Jinguashi Ecological park ~ Keelung night market ~ Y Hotel. In addition, as I requested prior to our visit, we went to Yehliu Geopark, a park with the amazing natural rock formations. Lily Chang, our tour guide/driver also brought us to the Golden waterfalls - for me, this is the best place we visited for the day. We had a wonderful time with Lily. Although, at times it is quite difficult for her to express herself in English, she made it easy for us to communicate with the locals - she will recommend which food are good and which are not. She also told us that we can avail of "free taste" and not be obliged to buy. We were together for 10 hours but there was never a dull moment with her. She always wear a smile. We had a very good experience!

“Excellent Taroko Gorge Tour with Josephine”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2014

Our tour guide Josephine truly made this tour a wonderful experience – “beware of farring rock situation.” I’m generally wary of organized tours (in Asia) but Edison Travel came recommended from a local friend, for foreigner friends visiting Taiwan.

Josephine’s humor made the day trip memorable and enjoyable. We were picked up from the airport and taken to Taroko Gorge, stopping at various vista/picture-taking points along the way. The pace of the tour was good, not too rushed nor did we linger too long at any point. We reached Silks (5 star resort) where we got to enjoy their buffet breakfast (one of the best I’ve ever had). Afterwards, we had time to hike/walk up to the temple (15 min) for some more views and vistas.

After that, we slowly made our way back through the gorge the same way we came in, this time taking a short hike in at Shakadang Trail (you can spend a few hours here but we walked in about 15 min).

Next we stopped at a sweets factory (mocha) where we got to sample and shop, then a marble factory (yes they will try to sell you goods, this is fairly standard), then to the beach. However it was raining so we ended the tour about an hour early.

Overall the day was fantastic, Taroko Gorge is beautiful, highly recommend Edison Travel, Josephine will be your guide!

“Great tour of Taiwan!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2014 via mobile

We took the 4 day Formosa Tour that did the big circle tour of the island of Taiwan. Thomas was our guide and he was great. The hotels were all great and the breakfast buffets were awesome. The lunches were so good and there was tons of food. Taking the High Sped Rail (bullet train) was great. Everything was so organized. Mahalo!

“Private tour guide - Jack Wang”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 17, 2014

I took a one day tour of the north end of Taiwan island with Jack Wang. I left the itinerary to his discretion. The tour was thorough. It hit the major sites and a couple of out of the way places that you would not likely find by yourself. His English was excellent. He car was clean and roomy. He charges a daily rate. I was a solo traveler, but if you have a group the per person charge should be quite reasonable. He can be contacted at "totaland88@hotmail.com"

“Very well organized and we had wonderful time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 10, 2014

We were 6 multiracial persons with 2 elderly, 3 adults and a 10-year old child. We contacted Edison via e-mail with special requests on private tour and a bi-lingual tour guide. All communications were very precise and promptly responded. The tour was very well organized! We were also very flexible on our timing - shorter duration at places less interesting for us, and longer time at places we like more, without jeopardizing the overall schedule. The accommodation was good. Our favorites were the Fleur De Chine at Sun Moon Lake and the Silks Place Taroko. The design of these two hotels were contemporary and practical. Their facilities and services conveyed a little taste of extravagant. We were annoyed at the Naruwan Hotel, huddled with mass tourists as it is the only 5-star hotel in Taitung, during the breakfast food/seat-fighting-frenzy. Our bi-lingual tour guide, Isaac Lee was well versed in English and Mandarin. He was knowledgeable and always patiently explaining in both languages. He always smiles, friendly and taking good care of every one! He also gave us some useful tips of getting around in Taipei after our tour end. Mr Cai, our very experienced tour driver, always driving safely and making extra stops at the best photo taking spots! Highly appreciated by the photographers! Also, he was very good in travel timing and gave useful tips about the walking routes. He simply knows every corners of Taiwan. As summary, We enjoyed the trip very much - thanks to the professionalism and engagement of the whole Edison team of this tour!
