“A pleasant view”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 25, 2014

Take a short walk to the south of MRT Xiangshan and you will find some stairs that are next to a Temple. After about 20 minutes of climbing the stairs you will find a breathtaking view of Taipei. It was a little hazy on the day we went, but you could still get a great view of 101 and most of the city.
There is no charge and plenty of signs.

“Nice place for hiking”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 21, 2014

Elephant Mountain is a place where you can be hiking in the nature and at the same time in the city centre just minutes aways from one of the tallest building in the world.

“Good view point of Taipei”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 13, 2014

It is a lot of stairs but it is worth it with a great view of Taipei 101. It is good to do in the morning before the sun becomes to strong

“Don't miss it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 9, 2014

Took the metro the taipei city hall and then walked a bit to reach the mountain, the hike was around 30 minutes, and the view at the peak is breathtaking...I was there around 9pm and I feel like I have the whole Taipei City(There are three rocks that you can sit on it, but personally recommend the first one for the best view haha!). It's a pity I didn't come earlier for the sunset, for sure it would be spectacular.
If you go in summer times, make sure you are protected cause there would be bugs and flies.

“Great view with a ton of other people”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 1, 2014

We really enjoyed the view from the top of the mountain but it was packed everywhere. The hike was short but steep at times (all stairs). We might try during the week to see if there will be less people. With the red line extension it's really easy to get to the trail head. Walk out exit 2 from the Xiangshan station. Walk through the park, up the hill and to the right; you will see the stairs on the left.
