“Friendly staff, convenient location”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

From the moment our taxi arrived, the staff gave us the warming greetings. Because my husband had a work meeting to attend that day, they asked the cleaning crew to expedite our room so we can check into our room before he left work for.

There is no iron & ironing board in the room so I had phoned in the request. Within minutes, a friendly staff brought them to our room.

The location is close to both train and MRT subway stations. There's always taxi lined up outside (I would opt for taxi service on a hot, humid day because a 30-minute ride cost under 300NT, which is around $10 USD).

Few things that I did not like. (1) Because my husband's work booked the hotel for his work trip, they only provided one complimentary breakfast for him alone. Most hotels that we've been to charge the same fee for single or double occupancy and therefore would provide one or two breakfasts depending on the number of guests. (2) Tried to fill up the cute round tub in our room but the water was lukewarm (even with no cold water turned on). (3) The night lights on the floor are motion-sensored so every time I'd get up to use the bathroom at night, they would turn on and wake my husband up. I am sure there's a way to turn them off, but the lighting switches in the room were not clearly marked.

I don't usually stay at "hip" hotels and wasn't sure if I liked the decor or not the first day. But, it grew on me. Dark lobby, paneled walls, Concierge Desk, and a life size model of a horse! Check in is on the 2nd floor. Great service from the doorman to the Elevator attendant to the Check-in staff. The Main dining room was kind of a "Hall of Mirrors" ala Versailles. Dark mirrors lines the walls with huge chandeliers. Comfortable sofas and chairs for dining. One of the best and largest buffet selections for breakfast and afternoon tea. Loved the hotel room layout and decor.

Good location, 5 min walk from Taipei Station. But for a hotel that costs $150+ per night, the room I stayed in is quite small. The outside view of my room faces a commercial building directly so that means I couldn't open the curtains. More ironically the bathroom windows are equipped with curtains but again the windows face another commercial building so again they have to be lowered at all times.

Most annoying thing is the wifi and LAN services are NOT free! Paid wifi service is reasonable, but even LAN internet connection for almost $20 per day, per device? They could have charge $10 more per night and customers would not really mind, if they pick this hotel I guess they wouldn't mind (I wouldn't myself). I can't help but feel that the hotel's lack of hospitality.

They deserve to be rated a 5-star hotel, given the scale and facilities. But much more can be desired for.

This hotel is very well located, the staff speaks english and is very friendly and helpfull. Decorated in beautiful antiques style. Room is comfortable and clean. Restaurant we did not like, they did not serve us at the same time, one had either cold food or was done eating by the time the next person was served. There are plenty of restaurants near the hotel, also lots of shops. Overal a great experience.

Noisy room due to bad sound isolation. Loud road traffic at night. A dirty piece of cleaning cloth on the bathroom floor when checking in the room.
But the rip off is, this hotel charges you for each devices you link to Internet. We are two persons in the room having 2 iPhones and two iPads. And we are gonna be charge 4 times! Incredible!!!

We stayed at deluxe room with strong wifi connection.
It's very spacious, cosy and clean. Most importantly is the Open Concept of the washing basin which is very thoughtful design.
There is a round bathtub where the kids enjoyed very much.
Serve healthy, delicious and quality food. Choice of japanese, local, western and vegetarian for breakfast.
Location is great. Very near to MRT and High Speed Rail station.
Q Square Mall is just next door.
The foodcourt have great choice of delicious Korean, Japanese, Western, Local food and Juice bar. There have supermarket and bakery. There is Agnes b cafe and shop too.
Ximending is not far from this hotel.
ShinKongMitstukoshi shopping mall is walking distance.
Suggestions: If possible, more concierge staff on standby at the front entrance to help carry luggages during rainy season from arriving hotel guest by taxi.

great hotel, stay here for 6 nights, good service, room is clean and nice, location is great

only suggestions:
- should provide free wifi,
- should make light feature easier to use, too many controls
- not too convenience to access from road side to hotel lobby.
In early morning, you do not get much helps from doorman.
