As advertised the location is great. the entrance is only a few feet from the very clean and punctual subway system. The building has 24/7 security and the staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The apartment is listed as a two bedroom. Good for a family, but we're not sure it's suitable for two couples. because the second room has no closet or dresser. However, It has sliding glass doors to provide privacy, when they are opened the room is part of the living area. Remember you are in a city that has nightlife and you can hear the sounds of music until the wee hours(3-4am) from the bedroom.

We stayed in Apollo C apartment which is a 2 small double bedroom unit. Decor is lovely and the apartment itself is very clean and well equipped. The building itself is less than appealing - a bit grotty from the outside but once inside the apartment you soon forget about that. The apartment guide is useful and informative and the reception that we received was very efficient - got a good run-down on all the equipment etc. I have to say that I thought the 'starry' ceiling in the living room was a bit of a pointless gimmick when I saw it on the website but the kids and I loved it when we saw it for real!

When I initially arrived I had reservations about the general fire safety in the building as there was lots of rubbish and debris blocking a lower staircase but this was all cleared up during out stay and in general the building appeared well equipped with all the proper fire safety equipment and alarms.

The only negative about the stay (and it is only minor) is that there was major refurbishment going on on the floor above between 0900 and 1700 during week days - this didn't really bother us as we were out most days but if you're looking for a place to sleep in the daytime this wouldn't be it right now - although I imagine they'll be finished in a few weeks. (Our stay Sep-early Oct 2010).

Other tips for the owners would be: i) add 220V outlet somewhere in the apartment for overseas visitors to power higher voltage (European) equipment.ii) Add a safe for passports/documents etc. iii) Add better instructions for the washing machine showing programme times etc.

All in all we were very pleased with our stay. The apartment is very compact but there is adequate storage and security seems good. Would recommend as a more cost effective way to stay in Taipei over a regular hotel.

We have enjoyed our stay in Apollo unit. Opohills staff, Janly, Karen and Mr Lai were very helpful during our stay there. They were responsive to our needs. Would definitely recommend our friends and relatives to stay at their apartments. Really value for money. The only grievance we have is the unit above ours is doing major renovation works. we cant stay in the house during the day time as it is very noisy. we checked and understood the renovation works will be completed by end 2010/early 2011.

Room was on the small side, but everything they provide is useful and used. We brought our VOIP phone over, and there is a router in the room to connect to. Comfortable beds and having a washer/dryer in the room makes the humid weather manageable.

The location is superb for us, where is 5 mins walk to the Normal University. also other amenities, such as a park, a library, s supermarket..etc., all within 5 mins walk.

The company staff speak good English, with attentive service, which help a lot during the stay.

Inside the apartment, especially both kitchen and bathrooms all fitted with good condition of appliances, which is definitely bring up the quality of our stay during those 4 weeks.

Travel with children, safety is one of the most important things for us, although Taipei isn't a bad place to live, the building of the apartment provides 24 hours security guard.

However, I think this is good choice for us, it is much better value than staying in those service apartment or a hotel. I will definitely recommend to any of my friends who likes go to Taipei!!

My family spent two weeks in Taiwan November 2009. We wanted a more residential experience but feared finding rustic lodging with primitive plumbing. The fates smiled upon us and we found Janly and her fabulous staff at Opohills. Janly knows the amenities Americans have come to expect in lodgings and she goes one better. Her apartments are architecturally designed, professionally decorated, and thoughtfully outfitted with everything Westerners require. They supply the kitchenware that we know how to use, appliances who's instructions and buttons are translated for your convenience. They thought of everything so your stay is not disrupted with housekeeping issues. The bedding, linens, and towels are all the highest quality. It was wonderful to have the family in one place instead of in 2 or 3 hotel rooms. Having a fridge to bring back leftovers and treats bought at the night market really helped us to save $$$. We used the laundry machines a lot not realizing how sweaty we'd get on our walks.

We explored Taipei with the help of the travel guides and neighborhood map provided. The apartments are fabulously located within walking distance of markets, museums, boutiques, and MRT stations.

Opohills staff speak English very well and conduct business as we do in North America. It is very reassuring to be able to easily converse and have familiar rental procedures. Believe me, other rental agencies have some alarming deposits and no adequate explanations. Opohills is the professional rental agency you want to work with for your next vacation or business trip.

We stayed in the Zhong Xiao Unit 4C apartment for 5 nights in June, and I have to say that we did not regret booking this unit, which I found by chance on the web.

Excellent location, right in the heart of Zhong Xiao East road, steps away from Zhong Xiao Dun Hua MRT station, lots of restaurants and shops around. The unit looked exactly the same as the pictures posted on the website. What you see if what you get.

One thing though, I believe there is a bar or KTV nearby, so if you are a light sleeper, you may hear faint music and singing in the middle of night. We could hear it but it did not bother us. (we were too tired !!)

Other comment is the lack of dressing table in the unit, which was a problem for my wife. This can cause some inconvenience for the ladies.

Overall, we had a great stay and would love to come back again !
