“RE: meet expectations”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 10, 2013

Just stayed 3 nights at Park Taipei Hotel. The standard room, 11th floor but with no 101 view. Bathroom is spacious, bedroom area is not as spacious as expected. But since I only spent US$111 per night here, so don't think I should expect too much. The only real complaint is that the in-room sofa chair is in such bad condition that I think it makes the room looks ugly. Bed sheets feel a bit coarse to me, but overall, the room is clean and tidy.

Check in is very smooth, but the lady receptionist is expressionless and of course lacks warmth and smile. The male receptionists however, perform much better, I did get a few 'hello' from them when I return to Hotel every night.

The main reason I chose this hotel is because of the MRT station right in front of hotel, so I'm actually very disappointed that the mentioned MRT Station has been closed for construction for more than 3 months! I do hope that the government can speed things up a little.

Thanks to the previous reviewers. Good job!
Excellent value for money ( 1000 HKD on agoda).
Great location
Great service - Paul the Maitre D' was very nice, always smiling, he and his colleagues at the reception were all happy to help out, when you look for a plcae to eat or how to go here or there.
They ALL speak Japanese. which was more convenient for me than Mandarin. They also all spoke excellent English.
Money exchange is possible - and the rate is ok, same as at the airport.
Umbrellas are available at the hotel door before leaving and in the room

The room Superior King - quite big a space compared to HK small rooms
Excellent quality of mattress, 2 bottles of water for free. and you can ask for more.
Room service is so fast! Dudn't even have time to put the phone down, someone was ringing at the door with my 2 water bottles.
Quiet area: Room 601 was facing a small alley in the back
Japanese electronic toilets
Bath and shower, nice toiletry.

-Taxis always waiting at the hotel exit, but anyway, there are taxis everywhere.
-From the airport : bus 2060 will drop you at Howart Plaza Hotel 2 blocks away.145 $NT.
-from the hotel to the National Museum: $145NT by taxi. 20 min. might be a hassle by public transportation, if you are tight with time.
-From the hotel to Taipei 101: 10 min by taxi. less than 100 $NT.
-Across/next to the hotel: Da An Metro station (25 $NT for about 3 stations), a big Starbucks.
-1 station away (and everywhere) Zhongxia Fuxing Metro: a SOGO, to shop. B2 level, a huge Citysuper, and great yummy food. Inside a food court.

To visit
A MUST: the National Museum: 160$NT entrance for adults. Make sure you start early in the morning, to avoid the flock of Chinese tourists.
The treasures in that Museum are breath taking...
Enjoy a nice view from the teahouse on the 4th floor...Beautiful venue.

Taipei 101: pick a non windy day...Visibility seems to be always limited in Taipei. 500 $NT, again, early to avoid queuing.
Below, a huge department store for a great food court, quite fancy.
Pass on the "famous" restaurant Din Tai Fung. Michelin Starred...maybe...I took some Cha siu boa (pork buns): plastic...or maybe this is the TW stylr and I am used to HK style one.
the ones at the museum were delicious.

A nice place to eat sushi: "Addition Aquatic Development" wwwaddiction.com.tw
In the fish market district.

Books and Eslite, THE TW bookstore. A few floors to visit, not only book but trendy objects, a cafe, etc...

People are SUPER NICE: even the taxi driver: one couldn't find the place, called dispatch, he reduced his fee. Happened twice.
All in all, GO and visit Taipei, for food, for the National Museum, and I heard clubs are great too.

We stayed there for 2 nights for a weekend getaway. The hotel is conveniently situated just across Da An station. We arrived at 8pm and the reception staff had all our documents ready. Checking in was swift. Staff was very eager room recommend us with places to eat nearby and was very helpful with all the questions that we had. We got free upgrade to a king room and our friends got upgraded to a twin room with 101 view. The room was modern and spotless with a very comfortable bed. The only flaw would be the noise from the construction site at the entrance of the hotel at 9:30am on a Sunday... But I guess that would be out of the hotel's control.

Overall, it suits our purpose of a brief relaxing weekend. I would not hesitate to come back if i visit taipei again.

The staffs at the hotels were all very friendly and the service were very good. We were all very surprise that the staffs could speak fluent English. They were also very helpful by guiding us around Taipei.

Con: Location is not at the heart of Taipei. But, the hotel is just directly above the Train station.

All in all, worth it for the cheap price.

Room Tip: There's a local market just behind the hotel. But beware of the huge number of motorists!

This hotel was the best of the best. We stayed 2 weeks for a visit with family. The room was clean, spacious and extremely quiet. A large assortment of bath amenities were supplied daily as well as 2 bottles of complimentary bottled water. Breakfast buffet was an option we purchased with our room rate and it was top notch. There was a large assortment of both Chinese and American items. The wait staff always asked us if we wanted anything "special order". We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend. It is also right near the MRT (metro) and about a 30 minute walk to Taipei 101.

Room Tip: Am not sure there are any "bad" rooms although we were on the 13th floor so maybe that was...

Modern hotel, room was OK, except for 2 horrible and useless 'massage' chairs and no real chairs. Modern bathroom with average amenities. Staff not friendly.

Had chosen option with breakfast when I booked the room, but I found it to be below standard on the first morning, so I did not eat breakfast on the following days. Nevertheless the receptionist refused to remove it from the bill, insisting it was part of the 'package deal' - a rip off!

My wife and I spent 2 nights there from May 10th - 12th. The hotel is just impeccable in every aspect. The staff at the reception is always helpful and friendly. We arrived at the hotel rather early, before 9AM. Since the room wasn't ready, they offered to take our luggage so we could head out for some sight-seeing. When we returned around 1PM, our room was ready and the luggage was already delivered to the room. The location of the hotel is not bad either, the subway station is just across the street. And there are a couple of banks near, very convenient for ATM. This was our first trip to Taiwan, the local people's hospitality left us a very good impression. Not only the staff at the hotel, just normal people are so friendly and polite. For breakfast, there is a good place within 10 minutes walk next to the Fire Station called Yonghe (永和豆漿). Highly recommended, best soy bean drink, rice roll and various tasty snacks at a unbelievable price.
