“Pricey but excellent....beware of confusion with Silks Palace!”
Reviewed June 3, 2012

This review is a restaurant inside Grand Formosa Hotel. It is nowhere near National Palace Museum. I had a trouble finding it because I insisted to the taxi driver that the restaurant could not be inside the hotel, but near the National Palace Museum, despite the address I gave him........what a silly mistake!

Nonetheless, I had an excellent experience dining here. The restaurant was fully booked, so best to make reservation. Staff were great and polite. We changed our order, but the staff kept smiling and did not show his annoyance, if any.

The peking duck is very good......we had been to Dadong before in Beijing and the duck here is different (slightly more meaty) but just as good. We ordered "Clouds" set menu, all meals (even the bun, which I don't normally like) did not disappoint.

So, despite the confusion and the mistake, we did not regret it one bit!

“Very Good Food”
Reviewed April 5, 2012

Food very good, service the best. As is the case in all of Taiwan, good and service are of very high standards. You will want to spend more days in this area than you booked for.

“Great meal”
Reviewed March 5, 2012

After we spent 3 hours at the National Palace Museum (a miracle of culture) we went to dinner at Silks Palace. Silks Palace is located right next to the National Palace Museum. You will be able to choose between a "food court" in the basement, a restaurant and even rooms privatized (like we do). Everything was very well cooked and nicely prepared with finesse. Chief of the waiters came and explained to us the ingredients of each dish, and how to eat them.
Great place, great meal, great service, wonderful people.
What a great experience!

I could eat my way around Asia! This is one of the better choices and everything was delicious as always! If i were a food critic I would give it 5 stars.

“A Great Break From the National Palace Museum”
Reviewed January 19, 2012

Great service, well-prepared and well-presented food. English menus and mostly-English speaking staff are a definite plus.
