Stayed for 4 days for business and leisure trip. Awesome room, very efficient staff, location just a short taxi ride from Taipei101, what more can you ask for? I dont mind the small lobby/waiting area as check in and check out was a breeze.

It was our first time here in Hotel Eclat Taipei. Even thought the hotel is a bit small and the Italian restaurant in the basement floor is still in renovation, we still enjoyed every moment of the stay. The Room with it's hi-tech facilities made we feel very comfy, the hotel even provided various types of pillows for guests. For the location, Eclat situated in quite a good area surrounding with good spots within walking reach. On the first morning, we had a breakfast in the lobby, the eggs benedict with bacon was excellent, we highly recommend.

Hotel Eclat is the ideal boutique hotel for couples or small family, but guests who travel with large group of family members or businessman might not appreciate it's charm and the absence of facilities which chained-hotel provide.

First trip to Taipei; didn't know the city so we relied on trip advisor reviews. We didn't go wrong. Hotel Éclat staff helped us all the way. The room was comfortable and clean and the location was convenient - a 5 min walk to the Daan MRT station.

We arrived on our Anniversary and were welcomed with a complementary bottle of wine and desert. The next day one of the staff walked me to a phone company to purchase a local sim. They also helped with getting better seats on our flight home.

We stayed there for 4 night in Taipei. The service is very good, although the room is on the small side. The bathroom is very tech-y. The toilet seat is warm the air sucktion is great. They updated the weather in your room personally in the evening. They had also provide us with the famous pineapple tart. I love the art pieces in the hotel. Everything in the hotel is luxury. The bed is comfy. Train station is just a 5 mins walk away. If i come back to Taipei i will strongly recomend this hotel again.

I don't know if Philippe Starck's people designed this place (I know that might be a bit retro), but could someone please do this with a small hotel in London! The ambience is exquisite, the service is sublime, and the rooms are to die for!

The rooms are not huge, but they’re really well put together. The large bed is very comfortable and the pillows are something special. There's a Bang and Olufson sound system on the wall (the remote is in the desk drawer) and a decent TV and DVD player. BBC, CNN and the usual suspects! The Wi-Fi is free, can connect 5 devices simultaneously, and booms into the rooms and public areas. There’s a Nespresso machine and a kettle and the minibar isn't too bad. Lots of wardrobe space, a nice quiet air conditioner, and they seem to have found a way to totally insulate the windows so you don't hear the street below. The curtains are amazing; there’s a remote in the desk drawer but if you just tug them like you would normal curtains, they open and close on their own!

All in all, a very peaceful environment and a great place to sleep.

But it's the bathrooms that have the real Wow factor! The toilet has a remote control unit which I hesitate to describe the capabilities of in terms of flushing you, washing you, drying you, etc! The huge mirror is heated so it doesn't steam up when you shower, the toiletries are Molton Brown, there are three different kinds of heads in the shower, including pulse and waterfall, and there are more big fluffy towels than you can shake a stick at. The designers got it so right. One of the very best bathrooms of any hotel I've ever stayed in! There was no bath in my room, but there is a decent hairdryer.

They leave you plenty of bottled water, and they completely leave you alone if you switch the Do Not Disturb sign on, which is great if you're a bit lagged after a long flight.

The lobby is a real showpiece, beautifully and eclectically decorated but blended in a way that the Sanderson and Mondrian, the originals, never quite managed to get right. They serve meals in a lounge environment, including afternoon tea which is delightful, and the staff just can't do enough for you. My rate included breakfast so I have no idea how much it would cost à la carte, but it was great. There is a full-scale buffet if you're in a rush, and a really comprehensive à la carte breakfast menu if you're not. The Eggs Benedict are especially good, and those of you that follow me on social media will know that Eggs Benedict are the gold standard of hotel breakfasts. Here, they just need to accompany them with a better sausage.

To be fair, the Éclat is not a pumping place. It is an ambient and relaxing bolthole, ideal to unwind after the kind of day that you probably have, like me, in Taiwan for business. You might not want to spend the whole evening there, and Taipei has lots to offer in terms of restaurants and nightlife, but you're certainly gonna look forward to coming back afterwards, and they make it very easy for you to relax there. I popped my head round the door of the bar for 5.30 Happy Hour but it wasn't particularly inspiring, so I had a couple of beers in the lobby lounge which was much nicer. If you are going out, the super doormen will get you a cab in a couple of minutes.

Out front, there's a nice little terrace for smokers and an ATM right next door. The location is fine, you can be pretty much anywhere in the city by taxi in 15 minutes for about five dollars, or there's a metro nearby if you're more adventurous. The freeway to Hsinchu is just at the end of the road and if you need to go there it takes about an hour, and costs the equivalent of £50 for a limo. Just make sure you get your contacts to send you their address in Chinese so you can show it to the driver on your phone. GPS will do the rest.

I have stayed at most of the big international hotels in Taipei, and unless you want the nightlife on the premises, the Éclat beats them all into a cocked hat. Congratulations to the management and staff for really understanding what their guests want, and giving it to them. It’s a part of the Leading Small Hotels of the World association, but for me it's right up there in my global top three, a hotel I would recommend gladly to anyone.

A rare gem! I will definitely be going back.

Stayed 5 nights in this popular hotel. During non-peak season, rooms were fully booked, consequently no upgrade availed for SLH Club members. Taxis are very affordable in Taipei, and probably the easiest means of arriving to the hotel if one is lugging baggage. Otherwise the Da'an MRT station is a 10 minutes stroll away.

Hotel staff were all forthcoming to greet and assist, all of whom were adequately well versed in English. Check-in was swift, with assistance to baggage being prompt on arrival, and functionality of the room presented by staff escort to the room.

Due to issues with noise, we experienced both the Premier Room and the Premier 9 Room, both of which were excellent, with the Premier 9 room affording more space and a spa bathtub. There was no bath tub in the Premier Room. The rooms are well thought out in design. Luxurious beddings with 3 different pillow options, block out curtains worked well, good range of free nonalcoholic minibar drinks, Molton Brown toiletries, excellent towels, hands free Japanese style toilet, Bang & Olufsen sound system with cable connection to electronic devices available on request. International power points available inbuilt in the room.

Breakfast was of an adequate spread with cooked to order options including eggs and traditional Taiwanese breakfast, all of which were excellent in taste and quality. Service was also well attended at breakfast.

The hotel has a bar, which is very small, somehow with canapés being served during happy hour. Unfortunately, whilst the design was quite intimate and consistent with the rest of the hotels decor, it felt almost too small, and 2-3 tables can feel too crowded. In addition, there was no other guests there when we went and the evening canapés did not exude freshly cooked options as it sits in a single stand. It was probably the least appealing experience during this stay.

Location of the hotel is not bad, with about 10-20 mins walk within proximity to a local night market, MRT station, shopping area and food options around Zhongxiao FuXing and Zhongxiao Dunhua MRT areas. Worth taking a short stroll about if weather is nice. Reception/concierge staff are all very helpful in providing sightseeing and local information.

Only downside for the hotel at the moment is the constant construction around it, of the underground subway exits, which may be a noise issue if you are there for leisure and will be at the hotel during the day when most of the work is carried out. In this case, do try to request a room with high floor and facing the back. This experience taught me to double check construction situations about a hotel prior to arrival in future hotel stays.

The hotel excels for what it is, a small boutique, luxury hotel. However the current constructions surrounding it, and the lack of entertainment/food options in the immediate vicinity without having ti walk at least 10 mins away, compared with some hotels in other areas reduces its appeal for me to return here. That said, no harm to do a bit of a walk if the hotel rate is competitive.
