“Must go,if you want see Army's discipline!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013

The main attraction is the changing of the guard every hour. Precision marching, very slowly done, with all the ceremony that the military can muster.

“Thumbs Up!”

This is worth a visit. Bring your camera. The changing of the guards is a delight to watch. Was told that the guards do not blink while on their 1-hour duty.

“Great to see if you're into military history”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

This is a very beautiful place to visit. Again, like you would expect, there is much history and it is a very humbling experience also. Not exactly related to Taiwanese history, more to do with China's revolution. Still though, it has a great changing of the guards.

“Interesting park”

Try to be there around 5pm so you can see the change of guards. If you have plenty of time it will be a good place to go by bike in your way to Tanshui.

“UNDER RENOVATION!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2013

The changing of the guards is impressive. The guards stand still for a complete hour in the heat and at the time of the change they do their flawless drill. You'll see the markings on the stone pavement between the gate and the monument (5 'paths', three from going to and five from coming back from the shrine). Watch the staff who make sure the soldiers pose is perfect, their uniform in the exact nice crease, ...). The guards become live mannequins for the next hour.

Shrine was under renovation at the time of our visit and hardly anything to see there. Visit around the hour, when the guards change.
