Stayed here as part of packaged tour for 2 nights. Was actually supposed to stay at a different place with better location so was a bit disappointed with arrangement. Hotel room seems renovated though quality was lacking. Many eateries and shops along both sides of hotel entrance. Hotel buffet breakfast was average but seats were very cramp, no walking space in between. They should change all tub chairs to something smaller as guests have no qualms about pushing their chairs to block walkways.

I stayed for 2 nights in this hotel, I felt that a little bit "aged"! Location is ideal, anyway i am not so care about the location of this hotel, cause i can take taxi to access... THE MOST IMPORTANT THING to me is SERVICE here IS REALLY TERRIBLE!!!! NOT HELPFUL STAFF!!!! The frontdesk counter staff, and even the staff who working in restaurant seemed indifferent and uninterested in answering questions.

I stayed here for a week and I felt that the hotel, even though they supposedly had a renovation recently, still feels a bit run down. The room was decently sized (I stayed on the club floor), but the breakfast spread needs a lot of improvement, and their gym needs a major renovation. Service is also not good. Location is also not ideal because it is far away from good shops and the rail stations. It was also on a one-way street that gets very bad traffic during peak hours.

Didnt have any idea much on Taipei especially on places to go... Cab drivers knew where the hotel was so didnt have much worries there. Hotel lobby is spacious. i must say, i enjoyed the buffet breakfast. altho, yes i would agree that the hotel interiors need to be upgraded. its obvious that most things have been worn out by time. but was quite surprise that the rooms were big. there was a living room that separates the bedroom. and the toilet and bath was just WOW! youll find everything from toilet, bidet, tub and separate shower area. Now location-wise... hhmm, i thought that was what Taipei could only offer so i was quite disappointed with the area but about 20min cab ride, theres this place called Xi-men and it was a lively place especially at night. food, shopping and bars! Will definitely return to Taipei.... couldnt believe how affordable everything was =)

We stayed at the Taipei Fullerton East for six nights, and I never felt like I could relax. Everything was very, very dated - 1980 wants its decor back - but also felt like it hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in years. There was a musty smell permeating everything, including all my clothes once I got home. There was mold growing all over the bathroom, and the carpet felt moist, so I always wore flip-flops. The water pressure in the shower was good, but it seemed impossible to keep a steady temperature, as it would fluctuate between too cold and scalding with no warning. The curtains were dusty and grimy, and there seemed to be a film of dirt all over everything. I was traveling with several others, and they all reported similar rooms, including some that were smoke-infested despite being on non-smoking floors. The bed was the hardest I've ever encountered, and the AC blasts all night, regardless of adjusting the thermostat, so I didn't have a good night's sleep until boarding a trans-Pacific flight home. Supposedly the higher floors (15) are better and have been updated, but we never saw them.

We did have a nice view of Taipei 101 and the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial, but the SYS subway stop was about a 20 minute walk away, with very little in between. Nanjing Road doesn't have a lot to offer except construction, though the Raohe Night Market is within walking distance if you're up for a stroll.

The staff seemed indifferent and uninterested in answering questions or giving good directions.

I would NOT recommend this hotel, or the location.

Room Tip: Supposedly the higher floors (15) have been renovated, but I can't confirm it. I wouldn't st...

we were a bit iffy on this hotel as the reviews for the Crown Plaza Taipei (which it formally was) were mixed. however, the value was great. the rooms were clean and good sized all in a convenient location.

the staff was friendly and helpful.

i think the only thing that could stand for some improvement would be the food. the restaurant (which to be fair, we did not eat) did not seem appetising nor did room service.

As soon as I walked in, I could smell the moldy smell everyone had been talking about.
The room was so dingy and run down and felt like I needed to sanitize everything first.
The room quality was rated about a 2 star hotel while the staff were closer to a 5 star hotel.
I was surprised they had a cot for the baby but, when they rolled in the creaky old wooden cot with 1.5" of dust I could not beleive they brought it to my room without wiping it down first.
The bathroom was old.
The walls were so thin that you could hear someone coughing!
The location was mediocre because you had to take a cab everywhere.
If you're on a tight budget and don't care about the facilities, this might be your place.
The wifi only works in the lobby but, it's free so that was nice.
