“Good to stay in Taipei”
Reviewed June 15, 2013

The hotel is clean and very comfortable. The hotel room was spacious, very comfortable large bed and a nice bathroom with shower and Italian jacuzzi bathtub. Hotel offers a shuttle service to Taoyuan International Airport for the reasonable price of NT $ 1,300. I recommend to book a room in the tower no 2 where the restaurant is located. Unfortunately the restaurant offers a limited choice for breakfast.

The room was ok, the staff were helpful (but sometimes didn't understand what we wanted to ask). The location is not that bad but could be closer the nearest metro station. There was only one thing what I wasn't satisfied with, the breakfast. During the week I had only few choice and one or two different food for not in a local taste.

I arrived at the hotel at 14:15 and was surprised to hear I could only check in after 15:00!!

I had booked the cheapest room(without a window) online and was happy to hear that I got a free upgrade to a better room with a window.

Once I got inside the room it all looked clean, but a bit dated. Not a bad hotel, but also not really recommended.

Location is 10-15 mins walk to nearest Zhongshan mrt. Hotel provide shuttle bus to Zhongshan mrt, taiwan main station and ximenting
Jacuzzi bathtub inside room. Price
Hotel breakfast - good, Staff is very helpful
Have enjoyed my 5 night stay in this hotel. Will highly recommend to stay in this hotel
Must visit Tamshui. Can take mrt to Tamshui - red line. A lot of nice local food. Weekend they sell organic food. Very crowded during mid day.
In Taipei, best to buy an easycard. Fare is cheaper and also convenient.

We like this hotel because of the location. It is a 10 minute walk to the train. Our room is nice. I like the Toto Toilet. We will stay here again. Breakfast is included. The staff is helpful. The only problem was that when you leave your room, you must remove your key from the master room electric switch. This turns off the refrigerator. I travel with insulin and must keep it in the refrigerator. I like this hotel.

Very pricy. Overall clean and comfortable. We were at the new wing building and all are pretty new and well kept. But for the price , were expecting a motorized partition curtain screen between the bathtub and bedroom. Not too comfortable with the original translucent manual curtain as we stayed. Had to request for a big bedsheet to cover the glass window from bathtub to room. Hotel location is at business district.

I travelled with my family in early April and chose this hotel after doing research. Am very happy with my decision. Their guests are mainly made up of Japanese and HongKong nationalities.

Hotel:

Situated in a good location by a main road near to Taipei main station and a night market(Ningxia) selling quality food. 7-11, Yong He shop (selling authentic taiwanese breakfast, youtiao, soybean drink etc., street snacks all beside the hotel within a few steps. The hotel is also near areas like Ximenting (5 min drive by cab), other night markets (10 mins by cab). There is a free van shuttle (7 seater) provided by the hotel at specific times (around every 30 +- mins or so) to a few main areas like Ximenting shopping streets, Taipei main station etc. Shutter van Driver has a professional image with uniform and willing to help and answer questions. There is no swimming pool but there is a 'fitness room'. However, the equipment are spoilt and there are only 2-3 machines. Guess nobody really uses them and it is left to deteriorate.

Room (Executive):

There are 2 'wings' (the hotel's 2 buildings) separated by a small road. one older building (which rooms are older, more used, and not executive style) and one other newer business executive building ( which is the one i chosen). i recommend booking the executive rooms for a pleasant stay as they all come with windows, are clean, newer and have more amenities.
There are no connecting rooms, (found out that usually taiwan hotels doesn't really have connecting rooms) and each floor there are only 5 rooms (each with a slightly different royal design) and our rooms are side by side. Has adequate lighting. Beds are comfortable and bigger than the normal king sized. Provided in the room are: safe box, slippers, tolietries, small sofa, some stationery, complimentary beverages, electric kettle, LCD tv (with a whole lot of channels) etc.

Bathroom (Executive room):

As the hotel (executive building) is frequented by japanese, there is a Tote toliet equipped with washlet and seat warmer. Buttons are on the wall for you to press to activate the water to specify which area and has a dryer to dry your bottom as well. Spacious bathroom. There is a hugh jaccuzi bathtub and a separate shower area with very good water pressure.
Provided in the toliet are: telephone on the wall, hairdryer, tolietries (shampoo and body wash in attached bottles), toothbrush and paste, comb, digital weighing machine, magnifying mirror, the usual towers and things like showercap etc..
Please take note for non-couples staying in same room that the bathroom is quite see-through from the room. There is a roll-down blind but it is still a bit translucent.

Breakfast (Executive Wing):

Breakfast is on the top floor with a view of the outside old buildings and streets. There is a selection like eggs (cooked only when you order), bacon, kinds of bread, stir fried selection (mee, veges, chicken, nuggets etc.), porridge and condiments, miso/vege soup, cereal, milk, soybean drink, fruits, juices etc.
Very warm and attentive service from the waitresses.
Been to Taiwan 3 times and realised that unless you stay in 5 star hotels (like hilton etc.), the breakfast will be a very good international spread. For smaller quality boutique-like hotels like this, it seems that breakfast is just adequate and not the usual resort-like spread.

Overall, taiwanese service is mostly good with a humane touch and you will feel very welcoming. However if you speak only english, it might be a bit challenging to understand each other but they will try their best to help. The hotel staff speaks japanese too.

Room Tip: Go for the executive rooms in the executive wing! Standard rooms might differ a lot in terms of sta...
