i was pleasantly surprised. The room was attractive and fairly spacious. The wifi, AC and water pressure were all first-class. Breakfast wasn't anything special but good enough. Unfortunately, no other meals or room service are available.

Room Tip: If you want to treat yourself to a fast, tasty and healthy meal, try the Brasserie at the Regent Hot...

Decided to add Taiwan onto my Asia trip last minuted and needed to find a hotel that wasn't too pricey. Ended up staying here for $80/night. The room was huge! Going there right after Hong Kong we felt like we were in a suite. The bed was super comfy to boost. WiFi was barely working so we requested internet cable at no charge.

The area where the hotel is, is a bit shady at night.. When we stayed out really late we just took a cab back, which was pretty inexpensive. During the day we took the hotel shuttle to the train- we walked it 2x and it's about a 15 min walk.

Stayed here for 2 nights, at the start and end of my tour of Taiwan. The hotel is not all that big, and it was divided into 2 buildings, separated by a narrow street. It's in a relatively run down area of Taipei, but at least it was close to the night market and MRT station.

Check in was smooth and the staff courteous. The room was clean and quite large, fitting a 4 star hotel. I liked the mix of ancient and modern decor of the room very much.

Buffet breakfast was on the top floor of one building, but it was in the basement of the other building. The one on the top floor was very good, but the same could not be said for the one in the basement. It was like a glorified food hall. Very squashy and food selection was lacking.

We made a booking for a hotel transfer to the airport (part of the package) and the driver was right on time. At no stage did we have to carry our own luggage from the time we checked out to the time we arrived at the airport. Service was immaculate.

Highly recommended hotel.

We were triple shared room with my daughters. The room was medium sized but elegantly furnished. The same goes for the breakfast dining place and the rest of the hotel. We even had a warm temperature controlled toilet seat with bidet. We had Loccitane toiletries!
We were told we were upgraded because we paid for triple shared at full price.Breakfast was Chinese mainly but in very clean smart setting.

The conceirge was very helpful giving useful directions. The nearest MRT station is about 10 minutes on foot but at a straight line with no problem of getting lost. Taxi ride to station is USD3 only. In vicinity there is a lively morning street market and during the day and night many street food vendors at fair prices..

I found my stay here very comfortable. Clean rooms, stocked everyday with new toiletries and water. My wifi worked fine in my room on the 7th floor. I got the feeling it may be a love hotel - ornately decorated with four poster bed, a rainbow flashing light in the spa (which was awesome!) and a see through window into the bedroom from the shower... but maybe it was my overactive imagination. Not so close to the subway - about a 10 minute walk but in honesty it was fine for my needs. I'd recommend it.

Room Tip: I think the rules of non smoking rooms is quite loose - so specify that you want that. they have two...

Quality for money. THE location is about ten min walk from mrt station. That is THE only minus.

The hotel itself is rather average. The rooms are clean but small, the location is not the greatest as many reviewers have mentioned and the wifi service leaves much to be desired. I give it 5 stars however because of its impeccable service. When we arrived at the hotel we realized that we had left one of our bags on the bus from the airport. The concierge immediately volunteered to make a trip to the bus station to try to retrieve the bag, which he did successfully. We could not be more grateful. This is yet another excellent example of the warm Taiwanese hospitality which I have experienced every time I visit this wonderful land.
