I didn't know anything about Confucius, but I learnt a lot at this lovely temple. Usually I'm allergic to (Western) religion, but this temple had beautiful music and lots of cheerful people doing calligraphy in celebration of the upcoming New Year. Also there were lots of fascinating displays (in Chinese and English) about the teachings of Confucius.

There are many temples in Taiwan, but with a famous name like Confucius this one should not be missed.

The setting is an oasis of calm and beauty in a bustling, noisy city. There are a wealth of explanatory displays and interactive exhibits to explain the history and continuing importance of this philosophy.

This temple is beautiful and simple in the way that Confucian temples should be. The rooftop is very detailed in comparison to standard Confucian temples. It is also full of interactive displays and is very educational and fun. Being close to Baoan Temple, you can see two in one and they are both worth the trip here.

Amazing how quiet and clean the temple grounds are, unless there is a plane approaching Songshan Airport. They did a great job restoring the temple in recent years. Close by is Baoan Temple, another fine place. Those two places contrast each other well. The regular Confucius dance shows are a bit boring for my taste, but they put a lot of effort into it.
