I was blown away by this hotel. From the minute you walk through their door they do everything to make you feel welcomed. My appreciations to the staff which is a top notch one and they rise up to your expectations and beyond. Loved my room with a view at the park, everything was very clean and comfortable, well-furnished and I didn’t feel like I was missing or needing anything. And the toilet with the automatic flush it’s awesome, made me want to purchase one at home. This is a place that values the customer, you will feel like a royalty and this makes everything different from the big corporate hotels. Too bad I had to leave, but I will be back for sure.

Beautiful hotel with some top notch service. Our room was nice. It wasn't that big, but very well appointed. We had complimentary fruit each day, which was nice. There's also a complimentary afternoon snack time, which we also appreciated. It's equidistant between two MRT lines (Songjian Nanjing and Zhongshan). We used the Zhongshan station all the time during our stay in Taipei and we used the Songjian Nanjing once. If we visit Taipei again, we will probably stay at a hotel closer to the Zhongshan line, but we would recommend the San Want for people who want a nice stay and don't particularly care about being close to an MRT line. Also, we read that they don't allow kids at their hotel, which was a perk for us as we have no kids.

I needed to run a few errands while in Taipei, and the hotel staff were excellent in assisting me. The staff was attentive, very helpful and spoke English. There is coin laundry located about 2.5 blocks from the hotel, along with a well-stocked electronics store two blocks away if you need anything while traveling. Several bakeries around located on the same block as the hotel. The bedroom and bathroom were large sized, though I would rate the quality as 4-stars. However, everything was very clean. The breakfast buffet had a decent variety of items, including several Western options such as scrambled eggs and toast. Several people have commented about the hotel's location. The hotel is located approximately a 5 minute drive from the Taipei Main Station. Alternatively, you can take the Red Line MRT one station north of the Main Station to the Zhongshan station. Take exit #3, walk straight when coming out of the metro, and the hotel is approximately 6-8 blocks away. This hotel is part of the chain of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, which is probably why some people have commented about the hotel's policy with kids. This hotel is meant to be for adults looking for a little luxury at affordable prices. Check the website for room discounts. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel service was excellent, as the staff was attentive and very helpful. Facilities were good as well; nice lobby and sitting area, and my room was spacious and very clean. Big bathroom with roomy shower and Japanese style soaking tub (and L'Occitane amenities, which was a definite plus in my book). Comfortable bed, sitting chairs, desk, and good entertainment system. Breakfast buffet had a decent variety of items, including several Western options. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

San Want has always been my first choice of hotel in Taipei for 4 years now. Very friendly and professional staff, quiet and well located.

It is difficult to get a reservation now but it seems the staff haven't got used to the situation and appear stressed due to the numbers of guests.

When I arrived at 7pm I asked for 2 shirts to be pressed add returned before 11 am the next day. This wasnt possible but they could loan an ironing board and iron. In room TV was set up for Chinese language rather than English.

Not really 5*

Room Tip: Park view is better than city view
