It may not be highly rated or regarded by the Taiwanese government, but I think it is much more interesting than the ruins in Tainan Anping district. Maybe because I have seen much better ruins with more cultural value and beauty in Europe.

There are 3 warehouses that have been 'invaded' by the banyan trees. It is really an amazing sight when you see how the trees took over the warehouses and claim them as their own. It is a piece of art by nature. You would not be able to see anything from the entrance, so be pleasantly surprised after you walk past the exhibition hall in the first building after the entrance.

There are steps leading to the roof for you to have an aerial view. However, do remember to bring an umbrella because it is not sheltered and Taiwan tend to have a lot of rain. The whole visit should not take more than 1 hour and beware of mosquitoes, especially during rainy season.

A very interesting place to visit in Tainan and different from the majority attractions here. The trees (should be several hundreds of years old) grow around the very old warehouse. The warehouse was built a hundred years ago by England merchant and then expanded by Japanese during its ruling of Taiwan. The Tainan government repaired this place years ago so it's easy to walk through and within the tree house. The fee is NTD50 (around USD1.6). There's a shop next to the tree house for souvenirs and speciaties. I bought the hand-made ginger-flavored brown suger.

Though some may think it is the same as the Ta Prohm in Cambodia where roots pierce through the structure. This is different. It is just over grown trees around the disused warehouse. And makes it look interesting....

The trees growing on the buildings is not something you see everyday.

I wasn't super-wowed by it, but what made it worth it was that there is a nice market street nearby for snacks and souvenirs.

An interesting place to visit. It's an old British Warehouse that have now been 'taken over' by Banyan trees.
Definitely one of the things to see while you're in Anping.
