We were assigned to room 511 - then later found out that the fifth floor is the top floor to this hotel. It seems, the higher floors above the hotel are actually apartments or condos (at one point we were offered to see the penthouse as it was for rent!). The thing that was very noticeable right-away was that all the front desk staff members really liked each other. They worked in such a lighthearted happy unison...which was wonderful to see! Sorry, we couldn't say the same about the breakfast room staff. On the whole they were all dull and did not necessarily refill some of the empty chafing dishes as needed. Tung Yat Cantonese Restaurant in floor B1 serves an evening all you can eat Dim Sum (priced per person). For a refreshing change of pace visit C'est Café - and get to not only eat + drink something Western but speak English with the very delightful owner, Lisa Wu! Both restaurant and café offers a discount for hotel guests and there is a self-service laundry on the 3rd. floor (with no 4th. floor).
We chose the location due to it being closer to the ocean and canal. However our friends travelling with us find the location too far from the action and somewhat smelly at times!
