The Temple Tiger resort in Chitwan was great. The facilities are brand new and well maintained, the people are extremely nice and they do many things to help the environment. For us, that's the 'Big Three'. The hotel bested many others we used in Nepal, and they are on the edge of a jungle! The included meals were good, and the activities fun. There aren't many places where you can go on an elephant safari, canoe a crocodile infested river and make a jeep excursion all in the same day. We were fortunate to meet the owner of the property and listen to his passion about it. His passion is shared by all the employees we met.
One thing you should note about this property. Once you complete your activities for the evening (dinner, lecture), you are escorted to your room. That's where you will remain until morning. You don't want to be out and about by yourself, in the darkness, in a jungle.
Also - if you are googling, you might note that there is a "different" Temple Tiger resort. The "other" Temple Tiger is the original resort that used to be located right inside the park. However, the government has forced all in-park resorts to relocate outside the park. Thus, this is the "new and improved" Temple Tiger! Hope this clears up some confusion.
