A great location right on the Rapti River, with good guides to help make the most of the trip to Chitwan. Everything from an early morning canoe ride, to a trek in the jungle, to an elephant safari is all organised with the minimum of fuss and the maximum of knowledge. The friendly staff aim to give you the best experience they can of Chitwan. We were lucky enough to see a rhino really close to the hotel. Because we were the only vegetarians there during our stay, we felt we were accommodated really well and all the staff were helpful and friendly. The room was good and clean though getting hot water was a bit hit and miss, but as it was so hot it didn't really matter. I'd really recommend staying here if you want to get the best that Chitwan has to offer.

Spent 3 nights here on an 5 month birding trip to the indian subcontinent. Brillant location with loads of wildlife seen from the terrace by the river. Rooms were clean and comfortable. On the down side the food was poor, often delivered almost cold and we did not look forward to meal times during our stay. The guides, Mr Krishna and another younger guy, were both excellent and made sure we saw all there was to see. Sunsets were amazing. The woman at the riverside bar was not very friendly and the prices were a bit high for drinks. Improving the food and service would make this a great place to stay as they lowered our enjoyment.

You can't beat the location. It's right on the river with great views of the national park at Sunrise and Sunset. the park is a 2 minute canoe ride away. Located very close to the elephant breeding centre, it also has a section of forest and scrub nearby that is frequented by Elephants and Rhinos. I saw two rhino a mere 10 minute walk from my room. Also saw gharial sunning themselves on the little strip of beach outside the hotel.

Food and service is good, and the guides we used, Usa (sp?) and Mr Krishna were both very friendly and knowledgeable.

Definitely recommend the place.

Room Tip: Get a room near the river. You can hear all sorts of animal noises all night. Including spotted deer...
