“Great views!”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

Sure that picture of Machhpuchhre visible through the window is doctored. But the views are magnificent as they are anyway. The Annapurna range is on the other side of the hill but you can still spend hours sitting out at the terrace after dinner looking at the glittering lights of Pokhara. The Annapurna range by the way takes a 5 minute walk from the hotel. And the lookout is a little further away, say about 10/15 minutes.

The hotel is entirely family run. The wife cooks and the husband does other things. Their son serves. His younger sister hangs around her mother. But they manage the whole place really well. The rooms are clean. The bathrooms are also clean. There is a fix though. The room at the far end has the best view, but the bathroom does not have any ventilation and so remains smelly. Views would be as great from other rooms that have better ventilation.

Luckily the two nights that we were there, had no clouds and it was perfectly clear all the way up to the horizon. You will have climb up about 150 steps but its more like 20 storeys so pack light. And by the way, once you are up there, you will have to stay put. So do consider that factor before booking the hotel.

Food is not bad at all. But the views are super...did I say that already?

It is expensive to Nepali standards, and you do need to drag your luggage up the hill. If you get a flock of disrespectful Indians, well, there's not much you can do. Don't be fooled by the pictures on the internet, the place is a little more run down then what they suggest.

We stayed 3 nights here, the owner is reserved friendly and accommodating. The food is well prepared. Our room was good, with comfy beds. The linen is hand washed though. The bathroom was smelly, and eventhough the toilet was leaking, the bathroom was rather clean to Nepalese standards. You're in a quiet location, just a pity a bunch of disrespectful, loud Indians came to spoil the peace, quiet and lovely views the place otherwise has.

great food, especially the buffalo curd, great views of the himalayas, even when it is foggy, great people, even if we don't understand each other. It sure beats being in the desert where the searing heat and no job can be a bummer.

We stayed there for 4 days and were amazed by the location and the familiar atmosphere. Laxman the owner who became a good friend of us in those 4 days cooks himself, everything is fresh from their own garden and in the morning you enjoy your spicy potatoes and a fresh made omelete from the garden with an amazing view over Pochara and the surrounding mountains.

After a 5 minutes walk you reach a view point, where you can see Annapurna, Machapuchare and different other Himalaya mountains.

Laxman does everything to make feel you fine, we wanted to do a 2 days short trekking and got a spectacular trip to some of the sourrounding villages.

If you want to relax and visit a place where you can find yourself you should visit Laxmans Lodge, after a few days you will feel like a family member. This place is absolutely great.

The rooms are nice, some with private bathroom, and the price is cheap.

We will come again next year to visit Laxman and his family.

I wanted to stay at Superview for 3 days but ended up staying for 10, the place was so nice and relaxing I just couln't get my self to leave, and Laxman ( the owner ) will make you feel like family, and the food is great, laxman even made me his famous chilly fried potatoes for breakfast( well maybe not famous, but should be).
I did read the review below, true the website does show a mountain view out the window, but i felt the view was even better, you can watch the sunrise from your bed, and all one has to do is step out the door to the balcony to see the himalayan mountains to the left and to the right down below the city of Pokhara and the beautiful Fewa lake, and look up to see the paragliders with eagles tagging along, and at night the twinkling lights of the city were memorizing.
The rooms were clean and very comfortable with bathroom and hot showers. as i walk around the village of Sarangkot i could see that Superview lodge is the best of the lot.
I must return soon if only to have more of Laxmans Chilly Fried Potatoes.
