We had an absolutely amazing time at Annapurna Base Camp and Poon Hill trek and we can highly recommend Happy Treks and Raj, our guide. Everyone is so customer focused and wants to make this trek just beautiful for you.

With Raj we’ve had the best guide we could think of. Raj was amazing, very mindful with lots of attention to details, caring for us for having the best time. He was always friendly and would answer one million questions about nature, the mountains, agriculture and local culture (and those few he couldn’t answer he answers later on via Facebook :) ). We could talk and laugh and play cards and enjoy the silence together.

When we booked the trip at Mr. Happy‘s, it was very important for us to have a flexible itinerary with the option to extend on the way, as we wanted to take lots of time for enjoying the nature during the day. And indeed we extended our trip from 10 to 14 days. Mr. Happy and Raj where very flexible and made everything possible on short notice.

My partner is passionate photographer, and also here Raj was very sensitive - from selecting the guest houses with the most scenic view, fighting for the rooms with the best view (it’s not easy to find accommodation in high season - Raj sometimes had a hard time managing this and was always successful), waiting for hours on the trek and serving late evening dinner or tea outside in the cold during hours of photographing mountains and Milky Way.

We’re still grateful: wonderful trek, incredible nature, the best guide Raj, and a million amazing memories.

Thank Anna B

My partner and I did the 4 day trek via poon hill with Ram Subedi as our fantastic guide. Mr Happy's treks came 5 star reviewed and did not disappoint. Mr Happy was quick to reply with many details and always helpful over email. I sent a deposit via Western union then paid the rest in GBP on arrival just before the start of the trek. We paid 300 GBP per person for all inclusive (car, accommodation, food, snacks, hot drinks, TIMS and other entry) and only paid for bottled drinks. However we didn't buy bottled water but instead filled from taps and used purification tablets. The mountain water is so much clearer than in Kathmandu.

The trek itself was brilliant (although the ride to and from the start line over bumpy roads can leave you feeling queasy) from start to finish. We had incredible weather which obviously helped as the views of the annapurna range were simply stunning. But the main highlight was our guide Ram. He was kind, friendly, Very chatty and attentive to our every need from the start of the day to the end. He answered all our many questions about the mountains, Nepal, culture and even taught us a few words of Nepalese along the way.

He found great guest houses for us with great food. None are hotel standard but given the location were better than expected. Ram was always checking on our welfare and if we were enjoying ourselves.

Cannot recommend Mr Happy's treks and our guide Ram highly enough.

We did a 5 day Trek to Poonhill at the end of october. Mr. Happy kindly met us at our hotel the night before to discuss the trip. The next morning we were picked up by jeep by Mr. Happy, our guide Salik and our porter. The jeep journey took around 2 hours over very bumpy roads.

We were guided very safely through the hike by Salik who made this trip unforgetable by giving us lots of insight into the mountains and nature. We are incredibly greatful for his kindness and patience when my partner started to feel a little unwell during the trek. We could honestly not asked for a better guide and hope to see him soon again one day.

Due to my partner feeling unwell we skipped the trip up poonhill and watched the sunset at the accomdation which was the best decision ever as we were not surrounded by crowds of people. We left when everyone returned from poonhill and had the happy hill all to ourselves which basically offers the same view.

We booked the trip via e-mail and paid 390$ p.P the night before.

If you want this trip to be as incredible as ours ask for the guide Salik as he will ensure that you are happy and well at all times.

I read about Happy Treks Nepal in a travel blog and when I saw they had 5 stars on Trip Advisor decided to enquire about the 4 day Poon Hill Trek that I’d read about in all the travel blogs. Mr Happy was brilliant at staying in communication with me prior to our arrival in Nepal, he was so polite and nice and answered all of our many questions! Unfortunately a day before our trek was due to begin, I got sick and Mr Happy was very understanding, sorting out a shorter trek for us which would suit our needs. We ended up hiking to Dhampus, spending one night, the next day hiking to Australia Camp before returning to Pokhara. All along the way we got great views of the Himalayas and on the first day to Dhampus we didn’t see a single other tourist until we reached the village. We passed through farms and saw local people and children. On the second day it was much busier with other tourists especially the stairs from Kande. Our guide was Raju and he was brilliant, we definitely recommend him as a guide. He was funny, full of info, he made sure we were alright, giving us lots of snacks and knew all the great photo spots! He told us that there can be up to 700 tourists at Poon Hill for sunrise, yet at our spot in Dhampus, we shared it with 3 other people. My advice to anyone trekking in Pokhara is to do it, and to book it through Happy Treks Nepal as you won’t be disappointed, especially if you get Raju as your guide. However don’t be so quick to jump on the ‘Poon Hill Train’ like we were. We had no idea before arriving in Pokhara how many different hikes there are and that you can start some of of them earlier or later so they can be tailored to how many days you have available to trek. My advice would be to speak to Mr Happy, tell him what you are after and trust his advice completely. We loved trekking here and are already hoping to come back next year to do a longer trek further up into the mountains!

Mr Happy Treks were fantastic. Mr Happy seemed to go above and beyond to ensure that we were happy, had a tour ideal for our ability and What we wanted within the time we had.
Tika, our guide was born in the Himalayas and was very knowledgeable the areas we trekked through and the people we met. Ganesh, our Porter, despite a bit of a language barrier, really made an effort to make us feel comfortable throughout the trip.
The guest houses were beyond expectations, offering hot showers and plenty to eat (the portion sizes were enormous!) and extra blankets when needed in the cold (take a thick sleeping bag liner just in case though, as recommended by Mr Happy!)
Tika has 25 years experience and knew all of the best routes to show us the amazing views of the Himalayas. Poon Hill at sunset is breathtaking!
Can not fault this company! Will be recommending them to everyone!

We’ve just got back from a 4 day Poonhill Trek with Happy treks. We had an amazing experience and can’t wait to book another trek in Nepal soon!
Our guide Tika and porter Ganesh were really friendly and helpful and always made sure we had everything we needed for the trek. We were informed of the local area and wildlife and got to explore local villages. We stayed in nice guest houses along the way with amazing views and great food.
The trek itself provides stunning views of the Himalayas, especially from the top of Poonhill, which we visited at sunset.
Thanks to Tika, Ganesh and Mr Happy for making our short time in Nepal an experience we won’t forget!

We booked the trekking online with Mr. Happy. On any question you can expect an answer within a couple of hours. Arrived in Pokhara we finally met Mr. Happy at his office where he gave us the last instructions for the next days.
The four day trekking went as expected and was fantastic.
Our guide Dinesh turned out te be a clever guy with a great sence of humor. Besides his trekking skills he spoke fluently English ànd Chinese. Our porter Ganesh was very gentle and helpfull for my wife and me. Both guys were very friendly and polite, to us and to the local people. They had lots of patience with us while we took photo all the time. I believe we became friends.
PS : we were shocked by seeing the heave load some porters of other tourists had to care.
