Perfect location if you want to be in central Pokhara close to the bars, restaurants etc. The hotel was really good. In Nepal unless you pay top dollar you dont get the usual 5* standards but this place was as close to it as we found in the area for a reasonable cost.

We actually booked the hotel through an agent and got a good price of about $73 including all taxes and breakfast for a Deluxe room. At that price this place is just great. I'm not sure though whether I would be keep to pay the rack rate which I believe is about double that.

Note: The standard rooms are awful...I definitely wouldnt pay to stay in one of those but if you get the Deluxe room it is in a new block, nice view of the mountains and generally a nice warm room (with a/c though we didnt use it)

Good pool, good breakfast...all round a good place - we stayed 5 nights and enjoyed the place

Note 2: Mr Rahul offers a wet shave for about $2 and is highly reccomended...out of the hotel and turn left - about 50m down on the LHS

Ideal location, good restaurant, cultural programs and decent swimming pool. Mr. Ram Bhandari at FO is extremely helpful and requires a special note of appreciation. However, we had bad experience with service staff who seem to lethargic and careless. We raised the issue to Hotel management. Rooms are well maintained with great views of the mountains. Bad service stuck out like sore thumb.

Our reservation at another location was cancelled at the last mopment and we were dropped at this hotel. I beleive the deluxe rooms are nice. However, we were given a "standard" room. We did not have hot water for the shower. The shower sprayed water all over into the sleeping room...leaving the carpet quite damp and moldy. There is foot traffic on both sides of the the room (sidewalks) so it is very noisy and not the least bit private. (windows open to pool area, but one must keep the drapes pulled, or every one walking by...and all the deluxe room residents must walk by) Towels were thin rags. It took an hour of begging to get two hand towels...we didn't have any...we had to sign off that we were not using them at the pool! The staff was un-impressive, and non-responsive. Service was at a snails pace. this was not how we wanted to spend a night getting a good rest before a long trek. I am certain that there are nicer/cleaner places even at the "standard" rate. The breakfast buffett was ok...and the location is fine if you want to be in the Lakeside area. But, again, if you must, then stay only if you get a deluxe room and inspect (and the hot water) before agreeing to spend even a night here!

Room Tip: The upper floor deluxe rooms should have an excellent view of the Annapurnas

If you are in the need of some luxury hotel in Pokhara, then this is the place to stay. Located in the heart of Lakeside, Hotel Barahi sits right in the middle of the action. The rooms are clean, well-equipped and comfortable and set in a well groomed garden with swimming pool. Huge buffet breakfast. The staff are friendly and helpful and the cultural program of every evening is very nice at the end they will come to take us for dance with the beautiful ladies. So don't miss it to regret.

Room Tip: Mountain facing rooms
