“Sunrise View”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

It was said, the sunrise view from Sarangkot is not to be missed. Due to our luck, it was raining and too misty to see the sunrise. The walk up in the morning was refreshing. But there is a small tea shop there that serves wonderful hot chai. Perfect for the weather. Get a good guide and do go. "Welcome Nepal Tour and Treks" is recommended.

“Great Mountain Views”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

Sarangkot is a small town located near Pokhara, although its higher up. The lights lining the town roads can be seen from Pokhara. Its a 25-30 min drive from Pokhara. Certain "view-points" of the town are the most sought-after vantage point for witnessing the sunrise over the Annapurna range. However these view-points can get very crowded. Sarangkot is also the take-off point for all paragliding activities in the area.

Although I've seen people flock to Sarangkot only for sunrise, IMHO the Annapurna range looks just as beautiful during any other point of the day; Only addition being the golden reflection of the sun's rays off the peaks, during sunrise. In fact late morning would be a better time to visit the viewpoints, as the crowds disperse almost immediately after the sun is up.

Not much to do beyond admiring the Annapurna, going paragliding and sampling some simple Nepali cuisine. We did not spend a nite in Sarangkot as its only a short drive away and there are more attractions in Pokhara.

“Wonderful nepal with a wonderful guide”
Reviewed April 25, 2013

Everest, Himalayas, Stupas, Buddhas, Valleys, Rafting, Para gliding......these are the words that children sang out first on our decision to fly down to Nepal for a quickly arranged short three days break. and looking back, each of these activities has been simply rocking in the minds and meories for a long time to come. Nepal is the sleeping beauty at its best - be it our drive in the most chilliest breeze for an amazing sunset view at Nagarkhot or the fun of being amidst the stupas, the monks and the chymes of the bells in Kathmandu monasties - flying on the world's most talked about flying ranges over the Everest, the view of himalayas and melting glaciers, caught between Earth and sky on a zip line or para gliding just shackles out what ever remains, Nepal indeed is a dark horse infamous for the Kings and maddening airport, but not exploring Nepal in its backyard means you are missing something in life.

Nothing more worth the mention than our decision to go with http://www.nepalhimalayatours.com - Deepak Koirala has been a face that is hard to forget - with every single tock tock key going by the hour - right from airport pick ups, the hotel stays, the mountain flights, the excelllent guides and most of all making it an extra privilege by making sure we reach the right place for lunch and dinner in the lettle known streets of the cities of Nepal.

Overall, a great destination - a great tour guide and arrangement - and one of the best memories !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“Sunrise at Sarangkot”
Reviewed April 16, 2013 via mobile

Beautiful views of the Maccha-pucchare, the fish tail peak and the himalayan ranges as the sun rises. A nice hike up early in the morning is a must do! Don't miss the pretty colours: the pinks, the oranges and the yellows the ranges reflect during sunrise...
