Peaceful place, historical. Worth climbing the stairs. Beautiful of Phewa lake and Pokhara. Read the history of establishing Peace Pagoda's around the world - interesting.

“Don't take the lake + trekking route unless you are fit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2013

On my first day in Pokhara my friend and I decided to rent a rowing boat and paddle to the other side of the lake where we were told we could trek up to the World Peace Pagoda. For travelers who are slightly more adventurous its great to take the 30 minute paddle across the lake and 50 minute trek up the mountain. But for less fit tourists I would recommend against it. Even if you pay for a guide to row you across the lake, the climb up is far from easy!! I know people come to Nepal to trek, but if you are in Pokhara to chill out and not burn off as many calories then maybe it's better to take a car.

“Peaceful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2013

As the name indicates it was really peaceful & spiritual. To me I always found Buddhist Temples great view & peaceful. On top of a hill, you can view a glimpse of the Pokhara city & is a perfect place for photo shooting, no should miss this opportunity once they are in Pokhara. I'm sure that you'll be liking it once you go there.

This is a wonderful site. The view of the lake and town from here is great photo op. It is quite a climb though.

“The Perfect Warm Up”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2013

Flew from Kathmandu and checked into the Hotel in Pokhara, to get ready for our Poon Hill trekking the next day. However, our guide suggested us to climb up the World Peace Stupa in Phokara, and we think that it would be a great warm up for us for tomorrow trekking.
After boating on the Phewa lake, we started the ascend. It took us about 1hour to reach the Stupa on top of the hill, but the whole hiking was an enjoyable one, with amazing view overlooking the mountain range and Phewa Lake. The pure white Stupa stood out on top of the hill with the deep blue skyline at the back, created a very peaceful atmosphere! A must do in Phokara!
