Take a little boat to this very small island in the lake. Just a pretty little peaceful spot with lots of pigeons.

This is the most important religious monument in Pokhara, Built almost in the middle of Fewa Lake, this two –stories pagoda is dedicated to the boar manifestation of Ajima, the protector’s deity representing the female force Shakti. Devotees can be seen especially on Saturday.

The temple itself has nothing special at all, it looks exactly like the hundreds scattered across the region. Its location , on the other hand, is amazing. It is situated on the only island on the Fewa lake, this island being a 5 minutes rowing ditance from the shore where the main boat location area is situated.

We took a boat from our hotel and headed to the Barahi island in the early morning. The place was full of devotee since there is a very venerated temple in the island. Nice atmosphere and excellent photos of the praying crowds.

This temple is very busy. There was worshipers dancing, chickens running around loose, dogs sniffing, sleeping and barking. Many tourists there for all over the world. This made for a slightly more unique temple because of the diversity of the people visiting there and the mountain back drops for great photos.
