Phewa Tal is a bit NOT clean, boattrips are a bargaining issue and the lakeside is at places congested dirt and plastics.
Improve it or don't go there.

“Awesome boating”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2013

Had a boat trip on the lake. The view was very charming. The water is not very clear. But there were some pieces of waste floating. Visitors should be careful to keep the water clean.

If you rent boat for fixed time, make sure you fix a rate for the additional time. Because, in most cases you would like to extend your staying time on the lake. If you do not fix the rate before you start, they might ask for a ridiculous amount.

“Great views”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 22, 2013

We took a boat out on the lake, with a driver, for 350nrs. We were in awe of how beautiful it was, the views were stunning...all the way across the lake, mountains either side and a nice view of the world peace stupa.
We stopped off at the temple in the middle of the lake for a quick look around. When we got back to our boat we went straight back to dock.
We were a little disappointed as we never got our full hour on the boat but the driver said it was the 'rules' to go to the lake and straight back.

Never the less a beautiful lake, stunning views and well worth taking a boat out on (maybe take your own though)

“WOW!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2013

Its a very beautiful place.we saw many monks with their orange colour attaire came by boats from the temple located in the small island of the Phewa Lake. Late evening, around 6 pm, the lake looks very peaceful, many boats parked near the jetty, no more water activities at this hour, the wheather was not really good, its raining but very mild, we cannot see the reflection of Annapurna range in the lake when the lake covered with heavy clouds. We were wandering around the jetty just about 30 minutes than we walk back to the hotel
