“Great Rooms with a View; Friendly Staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 23, 2013

We really enjoyed our stay here, for about a week. The room was sunny, clean, had its own bathroom, TV, balcony, and with views to die for -- literally waking up staring at the Annapurna mountain range. Staff was friendly and very accommodating when both of us fell ill to the traveler's food poisoning: they brought us hot tea, helped me make some soup, and always went out of their way to help without being overbearing. When arranging a flight back to Kathmandu they also assisted and got us a much cheaper price than we were quoted elsewhere ($70/per person). Breakfasts were also solid - ranging from eggs, pancakes, oatmeal and fruit, toast, juice, coffee, tea, and very generous portions. We looked around and realized this place was the best. Wifi was spotty, but usually worked. Paid US $25 per night. Highly recommend!

Room Tip: Room 203 is great (best view, balcony, generally quiet even though near a side street)

Really enjoyed our stay here before trek and after. Staff very helpful & friendly. Food very nice, rooms clean with beautiful views of fish tail mountain. Short stroll to the shops.
We will return for another visit.

Thank you

We booked two nights at Hotel Family Home in Pokhara in December, one before our Poon Hill trek (organized with the manager of Hotel Family Home in Kathmandu), and one right after.

There was a little bit of confusion at the very beginning, we didn’t really understand when the Power cut would take place, and we didn’t have hot shower for our first night, explanations were not really clear, so It was a bit frustrating.

However on our second night they did pay attention to what we discussed previously, they bought a hair dryer, explained us what was the issue on the other day, and basically they took really good care of us.

As explained by other reviews, the hotel is well located close to the lakeside main street but really quiet. Rooms are really clean with nice views and breakfast was ok (good massala tea).

All in all our stay at Hotel Family Home was nice and we would recommend this hotel. Price is around 25 USD per night and is quite a good deal as well.

A very friendly hotel and just like home. I stayed there for 10 nights. First day when I arrived, I was totally exhausted due to 10 hrs night bus. The staff there are friendly and offer very kind helps for everything I need, hot drinking water, hot shower, Internet access, breakfast and laundry. The room is also good with comfortable bed, clean bathroom, A/C (I use as heater), and balcony. It is located in a residential area but 2 min walking distance to lakeside main street. Very convenient to shops and the lake. The manager Arjun is always with smiles and very helpful for arranging my trips, taxi, and meals. This will definitely be my next choice in Pokhara.

Stayed here for 2 night and it was amazing. Wish had more time. Friendly and helpful staff since checked in until the time we left. Had the room on the top floor and the view from the room was magnificient. You can have both view of the lake and the mountains at the same times. The room is clean and comfortable. Just be ready to climb up as they dont have any elevator. It's only about 5 minutes walk to the main street where u can find restaurants and convienience shop. Highly recomended and will be staying here again.

The only downside is the power cut. Nevetherless still have hot water and wifi working eventhough the signal is not so strong from the top floor.

Room Tip: Try to get the room on the highest floor

I stayed for 9 days at this hotel, having abandoned a trek due to illness. When I'm sick, all I want to do is go home, and this place really made me feel comfortable, almost as if I were at home. Every single person was friendly, compassionate, and helpful-- from the moment I checked in until I left. Anytime I needed anything all I had to do was ask. There was hot water always-- although many hotels claim "hot water 24/7" it's often untrue. The entire place was very clean and the location was great, just a small distance from the busier downtown area and the lake. Breakfast was included in my price and the food was outstanding-- lots of choices, freshly prepared on order. The views from the upper-floor rooms are spectacular on clear days and there's a very tasty Nepali restaurant right next door (this hotel only does breakfast). There are also multiple restaurants of all sorts within short walking distance, however. Next time I am in Pokhara I will stay here, without any doubt; I highly recommend it.

Room Tip: All the rooms I saw were great; upper floors will have better views (but even if you're staying...
