“Completely rubbish place to stay!!!”
Reviewed November 15, 2012

If you are looking for a place to stay in Pokhara don't bother even looking here! There are plenty of nice places to stay with helpful staff but this is not one of them.

This is the first time I have written a review of a hotel in my life and I hope that in doing so it will stop you from staying in what is, without any doubt, the worst hotel I have ever stayed in EVER with the most stupid and inconsiderate (did I mention inexperienced?) staff you will ever come across. No doubt they are very nice and helpful people if you want to book a trek or tourist bus ticket or order a plate of chowmein but it stops right there...trust me.

I don't have the time or the energy to go into all the details but will say that it begins with a large amount of our laundry (think nice linen shirts and expensive trousers) being completely ruined by them and it ended down at the police station because we refused to pay the bill for the service. Not only did these people refuse to accept responsibility for their incompetence, they did not even bother to apologise either or try to solve the problem in a reasonable, diplomatic way. Instead they called their friends the police and had us taken swiftly down to the station. They were rude, uncooperative and do not deserve any further business from westerners. PLEASE DON'T STAY THERE. They have no idea about customer service and think that leaving bleach stains and blue patches all over people's expensive clothes is 'not a problem' and that you should rightfully pay for the service.

And if you are wondering, oh yes, we did have to pay the bill at the police station...

This is my go-to address in Pokhara. Reasonably priced and close to everything, but fairly quiet. There is a roomy garden area for sitting outdoors. The management and staff are very helpful. The mgr. Shayam is a former trekking guide and also manages a travel/guide service. He is knowledgeable about many aspects of travel and trekking throughout Nepal. He can help with these arrangements as well as giving advice. You can call on Ram the asst mgr for anything you need and it will be handled promptly with a smile. This is not a fancy hotel by any means, but they same management operates a brand new guest house next door that will be a notch up in comfort and fre
