Owner description: Parahawking is paragliding with a trained bird of prey. It was pioneered in Pokhara, Nepal by renowned bird trainer and paraglider, Scott Mason. Rescued and rehabilitated raptors such as Egyptian Vultures are trained as part of an award winning enrichment program, to fly with paragliders and, by using their incredible ability to conserve energy, can guide the paragliders to the best thermals. They will then land on the passengers gloved hand for an inflight reward. Parahawking is a perfect mix of adventure, eco-tourism and conservation. A Parahawking Tandem Experience is more than just a paragliding flight with a trained bird, it's an education into vultures and the problems they face in the wild. Proceeds from Parahawking tandem flights go directly towards vulture conservation projects in Nepal.

As if paragliding at the feet of the Himalaya's isn't amazing enough, Scott and his team of people and vultures offers you the opportunity to fly wíth a vulture. I'd never heard of this before, knew immediately that i wanted to do this and i don't regret it. The experience itself was great, but the information that is provided to you after the flight adds a whole new layer to it. I feel much concerned with the vulture population, and can't believe i had never heard of their threat ever before. If you get the change: don't miss this!!

Excellent activity-based experience with the adrenalin in your blood. The experience that brings up together the nature and wildliness in your blood. A must do event if you are near Pokhara!

How can paragliding off the side of a hill in Pokhara with all those incredible views get any better? Simple - paraglide with a Golden Vulture! Parahawking is a fantastic experience. It's hard not too feel, well just a little smug when you are flying with Kevin the Golden Vulture and everyone else is simply paragliding. This is a great set-up, incredible staff who are promoting a very important conservation method. My advice, don't waste your money paragliding with any other company - Parahawking is the only way to go. My wife and I were traveling through Nepal with our 18 month old son and I just want to say a big thank you to Scott's wife who went out of her way to look after our son whilst we were up in the air. An all round fantastic experience, highly recommended.

This was my second time Parahawking with Scott and Bob. As usual, an excellent experience floating over and around the lake with Bob leading us to the thermals and "dropping in" for a snack from time to time

This is a fantastic experience for adventure seekers and bird lovers. Unfortunately the weather was cloudy so the view of the mountains wasn't great however, the overall experience of flying with the birds was simply wonderful and not to be missed. Friendly staff and a great conservation message. The conservation talk and bird handling lesson were excellent and a must too for everyone.
