The temple is dedicated to goddess Bhagwati, another manifestation of Shakti. Bindabashini is the mother goddess who fulfills the wishes of her devotees.

It is particularly crowded on Saturdays as it is the day for the worship of the residing Goddess (a local said this). There was a long line of devotees carrying coconuts and other offers, waiting to get into the main temple. Just in front of the main temple, there is a Krishna Mandir. On the day we went there, a group of men were chanting kirtans in the Mandir, you can enter and join the kirtan or take photos. In the garden, there are small shrines dedicated to Saraswati, Hanuman and another large temple building dedicated to Lord Shiva. When we were there, there was a special prayer in the Shiva Temple. Also, there is a Pipal tree (symbol of Lord Vishnu) in the garden of the Temple.

Bindhya Basini is another form of Goddess Kali, that's why there is a special platform for sacrifices next to the temple. A local told us that every morning animal sacrifice (pigeons, chickens, goats) is performed for the Goddess.

I recommend you to visit this temple.
