Must stay here. Clean, big rooms new good hotel, good food and staff excellent in service and friendliness. Close to shops very village feeling. I will come back. TV works well, phone works well, room service is prompt. Bed very comfortable. No mosquitoes or other insects. Price is cheap but quality of service is not cheap!. That is good. Air con works well. Fan if too cold. Siva, Australia

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Lake Star for 2 nights, once before our trek and once after. The price of the hotel was included with our tour cost. We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The two rooms that were stayed in were clean, comfortable, and had air conditioning. We liked the second room better because it was at the back of the hotel and we had views of the mountains. The shower was the best one that we used during our 3 week vacation to Bhutan and Nepal. Both rooms that we stayed in had numerous moth balls in the drawers, on the shelves, etc. There were so many that it created a strong moth ball smell in the room. The hotel stored my backpack while we were hiking for 6 days. My bag was still there when we returned so I believe that the luggage storage room is fairly safe. However, I wouldn't leave any valuables in the stored luggage while trekking. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk to the main tourist street that has lots of restaurants and shops. Shopping in Pokhara was much better and more relaxed than in Kathmandu. On the road that goes from the hotel to the main street there are a few laundry services that are inexpensive. They are much cheaper than using the hotel's laundry service. If we visit Pokhara again, we will definitely consider staying at Hotel Lake Star

My friends and I stayed two nights in this new hotel in Pokhara. It is on a quiet street just five minutes' walk from the main shopping area by Lake Phewa. My room was cheap, very clean, and comfortable with A/C and TV. The bathroom was spotless white tile and nice towels. There is a restaurant, too. The food is very basic, nothing fancy. All in all a very nice place to stay. Next time we are in Pokhara we will be sure to stay at the Lake Star.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms on the upper floors where you can get a very nice view of the Annapurna Himalaya Range...

this is my second time staying in lake star. last year during Xmas, i went to Pokhara for a short stay and spent 3 nights in this hotel. this Oct, i was there again with 3 friends, and had a nice time. after leaving noisy and dusty ktm, and moving into a small but quiet cozy hotel like lake star, you would find it worths to travel for 6 hours on the road. in lake star, i finally could have a nice decent sleep for over 8 hours...and the room is spacy, bathroom also big and super clean, 24hours hot water, only 5 min walk to the lake side main road. i recommend it to anyone who is looking for a nice quiet stay with good price and convenient location. next time if i go to pokhara, i will still choose to stay in lake star if im on budget trip...:)

Staff was very friendly and it was much cheaper than Temple Tree where we stayed after our trek, but it was perfect for one night and I would recommend this to anyone who just needed a clean place to sleep for a good price. Food in restaurant was pretty good too--since it was downpouring and we didn't want to go out in rain to find somewhere else to eat. Breakfast included.

Room Tip: upper levels have best view on clear days and will be quieter. No elevator though, so be prepared t...

I spent three nights at the hotel Lake Star in Pokhara two weeks ago this year. The place is a clean, comfy place with only 5-10 minutes' walking distance away from Fewa lake.

The staffs there are friendly, helpful and warm. Nice experience.

We spend two nights at the Hotel Lake Star. The first before flying to Jomson, the second after the trek. Surely the impression after the trek was more positive especially due to the lack of comforts during the trek, but Lake Star deserved a praise. They are very friendly, honest, they do everything to help their customers (laundry ready in time, breakfast at impossible early hours, rooms ready hours before check in time only to make their guests relax and have a shower and some sleep sooner than expected). The rooms are nice decorated, the hotel is quite new and its not showing any age problem. Air conditioning perfect, fan, tv and super comfortable mattress (believe me if you trek you'll appreciate that) and out of the buzz, hence quiet.
The bathroom deserves a "bravo". Big, clean, with loads of running water (cold and hot). Breakfast could be perhaps more oriented to westerners taste (buffet has only bread, butter and jam, potatoes, eggs, bolied tomatoes) but I'm sure that if we have asked for pancakes or something else they would have made it for us. We had dinner (Nepali and Indian) and it was excellent.

Room Tip: the last floor offers a huge balcony but the rooms are warmer (in summer period). If travelling in t...
