“Arguably the Best Hotel in Nepal”
Reviewed July 22, 2013 via mobile

Not a 5 star hotel by most standards, but 5 stars comparatively to other hotels in Nepal. My only complaint was the 10 - 15 minute walk to a majority of the shops and restaurants. It looked a bit sketchy at first, driving up on a dirt track, which has since been paved, to the hotel, but walking trough the lobby, past the restaurant into the garden and pool area is like walking into a small oasis. If your not looking for a budget motel; I would highly recommend that you stay here while in Pokhara.

My sons and I spent 4 nights at Temple Tree after having to turn back on an ill-fated Annapurna trek. The resort is spot on: incredibly-attentive staff, fantastic pool, reasonably-priced spa, and a good breakfast. You can easily book tours from the hotel, though you will pay a bit more; it was worth it. There's also a car service that you can pay for instead of using a taxi.

Temple Tree is what I call a boutique hotel: nice local architecture, intimate setting, hand made furniture and a touch of class everywhere you turn. We especially enjoyed the swimming pool, very big and extremely clean, with stone statues sorrounding it. Breakfast was plenty but we did not try the restaurant. Spa average.

I have stayed there with my husband for 5 nights.

We have tried Shangri La before this and was a horrible experience.

Temple Tree is right on the lakeside, its very clean, and the staff are extremely helpful.

The only two things I didnt like is the travel desk and the spa. The spa is very average in comparison to my other experiences in Nepal. I tried a Foot Palm Shoulder and Head Oil Massage.

As for the Travel Desk, I recommend you research trip advisor and book yourself, prices are way much higher on the travel desk and the places chosen arent the best (in my humble opinion)

Breakfast is great, Housekeeping is great, Bar and cocktails are great, The pool is clean and warm, Rooms are clean and comfy ( a bit small though), the bathrooms are modern, furniture is new, food is creative, location is perfect , I will definitely repeat!

It is a nice property with nice service. The hotel is near from the lakeside however the road was not good condition. The rooms were nice but a bit smaller. The hotel has a nice pool. The grounds are quiet where you can relax. I decided to dine out as there were many nice options outside the hotel.
The staffs were good and friendly. There is a spa in the hotel but didnt use it.
Overall, I had a comfortable stay at the Temple Tree. Would recommend it.

I stayed here in May 2013 with family. Very good service and courteous staff. The road in front of the hotel is a mess though and its a pain to walk down to the main road near the lake. Apart from that its a nice green place.

Recommended.

We were there for 2 nights having booked via internet after a thorough search among the various high end choices in Pokhara, and and we were very happy with our choice. The quiet, tasteful grounds of this boutique hotel charmed us as soon as we entered into the courtyard. It was actually better looking than the photos on the internet. Stone cottages and wooden verandhas, landscaped gardens and an immense tree chirping with birds. It is just off the main road circling the lake, about a 150mt up. There is buffet breakfast from early morning and a lovely restaurant on the first floor of the reception building. The pool is amazing, perfect for a family with kids, and they can serve you drinks and snacks from the nearby bar. Nearby you can also find some really good restaurants and a lot of nice shops selling jewellery and carpets. Pokhara was definitely our best stop in Nepal.

Room Tip: There are rooms with mountain views on the north side, but we were not lucky with the weather.
