Came here on a recommendation from a local friend, and not disappointed. Breakfast of the sausage hash and muffins, with a pot of mint tea, blew me away. Much appreciated as I was starting to miss 'western' style cooking after living in Nepal for 2 months.

Great value for money and seating right by the lake. Service by the wait staff was excellent. Never hovering around but right there when you wanted them. Perfect.

The Kathmandu location is better. The Pokhara restaurant used to be one of the best spots on the lake but a new lakeside sidewalk has spoiled the view a bit. Still a good nice place for breakfast.

We found Mike's to be quite a lovely place to stay and enjoy meals throughout the day. On the lake dining, and yes, the dogs are there, but they typically don't take away from the experience, it's beautiful, the foothills of the Himalayas, on the lake and eating a wonderful meal. Mike's coffee, it's seems a bottomless cup, is great. It's organic coffee, grown in Nepal. Mike's breakfast special is a new twist in scrambled eggs and omelet, come's with great little muffins and jam ... Breakfast burrito, great as well, omelets, very good, a good menu for vegetarians! I could go on, the food is really good and consistently so. If you're in a hurry, well, maybe you should try another spot, but Mike's is not slow, the pace allows you to take in the surrounding beauty. We spent several nights in the hotel as well and found the rooms to be neat tend tidy upon arrival and the bathrooms more than adequate, hot water most of the time, the water is purified. Ultimately, the staff is lovely, and it appears everyone enjoys being there. The music is always varied and very good. Prices may be a bit higher, but I found the value in the better service and atmosphere to gladly pay a little more.

The food here is quite average, the location (by the lake) seems to be more appealing than its food. Prices are just ok, not too expensive but not the most affordable. They mostly serve Western food such as Italian and Mexican food. They declare that everything is washes with iodized water, so maybe that's the place to eat your (fruit) salad :)
