“A lovely hotel with a good atmosphere and great staff...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 9, 2009

After reading so many good reviews of this hotel on this website there was never any doubt about the place to stay, and im so glad we chose here. I pre-booked this hotel before we arrived via email and i asked for their best room with was $15 including all taxes.

Good
- The hotel has a very good location as its about 100m from the main strip in town, but remains very quiet at all times.
- The room was very clean and was a very good size containing 1 double bed and 1 single, a table and a drawer. The bathroom was also a great size.
- There are 2 rooms on the top floor and they have their own little balcony as well as other outside space, which was great to have a drink and chill out, with nice (restricted by trees) views of the lake and mountains.
- The staff are extremely helpful and we had no problems. We left some clothes on the rooftop to dry and while we were out it rained, but when we came back someone had brought them inside and also folded the clothes for us.
- The owner is also great and nothing is too much trouble. He was always willing to answer questions and booking our bus back to Kathmandu was done instantly and with no fuss.

Bad
- The hotel doesn't offer a free pickup which means you are subject to all the hassling and harassment the second you arrive at the bus station.
- There is a rooftop but it is rather neglected and there has not been much effort put into making it comfortable and nice place to relax.

Other
- The hotel has internet (an ok speed) which you have to pay for, but the cost is minimal.

Overall
This is a great to place to stay in Pokhara and I would highly recommend staying here, especially in the high season months when I can only imagine the view of the mountains will be spectacular! The location and the staff here make this place and we had a great time.

i had the pleasure of staying with the sacred valley hotel last week and it lived up to my expectations. sure, its not a five star place but the rooms are large and clean and the shower is great. I was staying on the top floor with a lovely bug verandah. I would suggest to management to put some chairs and a table out there to make it more user friendly. The management at that time consisted of harry - who is a trekking guide - he was relaxed but extremely helpful. the hotel made arrangements for rafting and motorbikes as well as my return flight when i missed the early morning bus. Pokhara is a lovely vacation spot with everything for everyone. I spent my time on a bike in the mountains so my accomodation was not a priority. The breakfast was fantastic. There is a basic internet facility and filtered water available. The ambience was excellent with many guests sitting and chatting over a beer. The cost is very reasonable as well. All in all i can highly recommend this guest house - great management, good location, clean spacious rooms, good bathrooms, delicious breakfasts and great value.

I stayed in this hotel after an adventurous trip to Tibet. I really enjoyed my stay there because it gave me everything I needed to get some rest after the trip.

I think this hotel is the best place to stay in Pokhara. The location is perfect, close to the Lakeside center but still offer quite and peaceful surrounding. The hotel and the rooms are clean and well maintained. The staff in the hotel were really helpful. They have also good breakfast from the Monsoon Cafe which is part of the hotel.

Overall, this is one of the best place to stay in Pokhara and I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Stayed for a week and loved it. So it may not be the typical 5-star you would find in America, but it is perfect for Nepal. Clean, spacious, lots of light, safe, nice staff, library, quiet garden, hot water, fan, comfy beds...etc. Great place especially for the price. Oh, they also store your stuff for free while you trek.

This hotel really doesn't need another good review I guess, but I just have to concur with all the previous reviewers.
Clean rooms, good staff, great food (those fried potatoes at breakfast were my downfall)perfect location, central but quiet. And terrific value for money at US$10.00 per night.
Free internet - take your turn with other guests,
A couple of comments - as this Hotel is highly recommended in "The lonely Planet" I would recommend trying to get in there early.
Also the top rooms I suspect would get rather hot in the summer as the rooftop got very hot by about 11am.

This is a great value option for staying in lovely Pokhara, the staff will do everything they can to make your stay as pleasent as possible. The rooms on the ground floor are the cheapest and have a big clean bathroom and big bed, all for just 450NPR.

Would definately stay here again, they have a generator so you will always have light during the blackouts.

We were travelling with 3 young children (3y-old twins + 1y-old infant) and booked online requesting a suitable room. We were given one (of two) top floor rooms with double + single bed + shower over bath - simple (e.g. no TV which suited us just fine!), but sufficent space for our needs, a bright room with great shower and plenty of hot water, but the best thing was the room had two balconies! A small private balcony which was great for evening drinks and watching a movie on the laptop while the kids slept, and a much larger (shared) balcony with flower garden which catches a good mix of sun and shade which the kids could run around safely on. Food and service was good for breakfast and a light + cheap lunch, although menu was limited for dinners - but good restarunts 1 minute walkway (e.g. Moondance was our favourite). Bishnu's team provided relaxed but attentive service with good local knowledge and advice. Only downside is that the guest house is not currently wired for wi-fi, although nearby restaurants are, and there is a PC with internet in the main living area for communal use. All-in-all, superb value for money, and would thoroughly recommend it for a basic but value-for-money central stay.
