“Unforgettable Nepal”
Reviewed July 21, 2009

Nepal is a special country where sky, mountains and beauty merge together.
It has been an unforgettable experience, also thanks to my special guide Buddhi Prasad Bhatta, a young talent that has made my trip special.
I have seen places that tourists ever see, I have spent time with local people and I have visited a lot in one week staying in the best hotels. Buddhi recommended me the Dwarika's Hotel in Kathmandu: something unforgettable.
The "mountain flight" he organized for me is something that will always remain in my loving memories.
This is what makes a beautiful country special and Buddhi is a fantastic resource of this marvellous country.

“Go to Pokhara! NOW!”
Reviewed April 21, 2009

Walk on the streets and you inhale carcinogenic fumes from cars running on a mix of petroleum gas mixed with kerosene and other substances.

You could by a mask so you don't swallow or breathe the dust that is everywhere from the unpaved or semi-paved roads. But the mask only protects you from the dust. You are still inhaling cancer-causing fumes!

Every where you go, there will be people always trying to sell you something.

And it is more expensive than Bangkok, where the roads are good and you are able to go somewhere to escape the pollution and dust!

If you go to Nepal, go to Pokhara or Lumbini or the Anapurna Circuit. You will breathe better when you get back home.

“Great!!!”
Reviewed March 15, 2009

Great place to spend a few days. The centre is very touristy, but loads of shops & restuarants. Cheap transport, take a taxi for a day for $ 20.00 with driver. The valley, incl. temples are a must see

“Not for everybody”
Reviewed January 10, 2009

Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal, a true 3rd world country with very poor infrastructure. It has some appeal from a cultural perspective, but if culture attracts you, South-West China or North Thailand would be much better picks. The roads inside and around the city are crazy dangerous, many unpaved, you have to endure 1-6 hour power outages every day, and food poisoning is also possible. I never thought I'd say this, but after Kathmandu, Delhi India looked so Western and modern. There were still some charming moments on this trip, like the nearby day trip to Bhaktapur, but all in all, I would not recommend this destination to folks over 30. I wish someone had warned me in advance, I was not expecting such a rough 3rd world experience, much harder than India or China.
